The filaments require drying as well, so they aren't really cheap.

    • +2

It is just on this batch, with the matte black white grey plas and the matte white black abs. All other plas including tricolours and dual colours are out the box good to go

Cf filled can print out the box but drying is recommended with the same settings and methods as other companies.

Glass filled abs print out the box

Standard abs also print straight out the box

As stated the filaments are mostly fine, just a few need drying.

Next batch that won’t be an issue just like our prior batches.

I've bought 24 rolls from Sidd and used about 10 so far. 0 Issues. With these prices it's just a no brainer specially Matte PLA being way more expensive than regular when compared to other suppliers. If i have to dry the filament so i can save $10+ per roll, worth especially considering I dry every fresh roll anyways.

Try finding PLA for $17/kg as a regular price elsewhere. I'll wait.

Sidd actually tells us what's going on, has a Transparency page. Other suppliers will offload anything and never say a word.

I've bought the tri colour PLA and PETG and both have printed beautifully without requiring drying.

  • I put 6kg in the cart and it asked me to pay 24 dollars shipping fee via Au post. Hmm…

    • Check the sendle rates as those are discounted, auspost rates are actually still the same as they are increasing the price in 2-3 days.

    • If you’d like, put your order through and just include your oz tag in it and I’ll send back 12$ to make the shipping 50% off for ya!

    • Same issue, Sendle does not come up as an option.

      • There is a chance your address isn’t auto recognised, try another address and see if that helps as I’ve found sometimes people put the suburb in the city section and it breaks the automatic calculation making sendle not show up

  • Damn just got a shipment delivered this week and don't have a dryer yet… does it affect the last batch as well?

    • It shouldn’t, if you do have some wet or rolls that are slightly bubbling when printed, you can actually use your printer bed to dry the roll temporarily.

Crank your bed up to 60-80, put the roll on the bed and then cover it with a box.

I still recommend everyone buy a drier, a simple food dehydrator in a 10$ Bunnings tub can dry 10 rolls in one go!

      • Thanks for the feedback, any recommendations for a dehydrator? I have a Sovol SH01 in my cart but don't really want to pay the $70 if I don't have to!

        • +3

          definitely don't get those!

this and any storage tub you have laying around, make sure you have a few holes in the top or leave the lid a bit loose, boom 10 roll dryer

          • @Sidddd: I literally bought one of the kmart dehydrators this week and have had noticable success with it on very old filament. They're a little bigger than some others but get the job done!
Slightly cheaper alternatives can be found on ebay or amazon, but I wanted it there and then.

          • @Sidddd: Any chance you could put a photo up of this setup? Trying to google but can only find ones where people have cut out the rings of the circular ones.

          • @Sidddd: d'oh wish I read this earlier! Just a couple of days ago ordered one of those cube style dehydrators for a little more cos I decided in the long run I'd save myself the hassle of cutting or print-modding the Kmart tray stack style one, when this tub thing I could've done the trick.

            • @dufflover: The 10$ Bunnings tub is too good haha

  • Hi Sidddd just ordered a small bundle - thanks.
I like the "transparency" page, and … here a request with similar word but different meaning: please consider stocking transparent filament - eg PLA with no added colour. My experience is that can print looking really good, but is not readily available. (I've only tried PLA for this, but would guess that other plastics could also look good 'raw')

    • +3

I’m getting an extruder very soon and will be able to make the transparent plas in Australia shortly!

I do plan on stocking transparent and clear Petgs and plas

  • Just ordered a few days ago and paid $20+ for shipping to metro Melbourne.
Can confirm the normal ABS prints prints great.

    • I do apologise for starting the promotion now haha, but not to fear this shipping rate is sticking by for some time!

      • Keep up the good work mate. It is amazing to see a Australian business providing cheap and decent filaments.

  • Can we just use a hair dryer to dry? If so, any recommendations to go about with this?

    • +1

No, a food dehydrator is the best most cost effective and most efficient way to dry material.

      • Thanks, had ordered some PLAs and a PETG over the weekend, looking forward to getting them !
Just getting my hands dirty with 3D printing, couldn't be bothered to troubleshoot the Ender anymore and got a P1P!

        • Are you selling your ender? :D

          • @plague69: I sure am, mate :)
This is a Ender 3 V2, I later added a BL-Touch and the metal extruder.

            • @Rorschach: Where can I find said listing/price/photos/details? You can DM me if you'd like :) Thanks

              • +1

@plague69: Haven't gotten around to any of it yet, probs this weekend.
                Will PM.

            • @Rorschach:

              Haha, similar setup.
Want to jump the ship and buy BambuLab too - waiting for their announcement on July 13th.

              • @SickDmith: P1S? Just saw.
If it's anywhere close to the P1P in pricing, I'm going to break some things around here.

  • Sidd, what's the recommendation for enclosure temperature for your abs?
