  • My exp with gigabyte and Radeon gfx hasn't been great! Or MSI. Powercolor or sapphire for me thx.

    • Yea Just in the process of returning a gigabyte 6700xt, purchased 3 weeks ago.
Got the "no signal out" issue with it, a quick Google shows it's a very common issue.
I'm amazed at the hits I got when searching "Gigabyte video card issues".

      • Is this the Gigabyte Eagle 6700 xt? I purchased recently and have been getting issues with a black screen/no output, have to restart multiple times. Is that what you were experiencing?

        • @brifog yes Gigabyte Eagle 6700XT, purchased from a deal off Ozbargain only few weeks ago.
Was running well until few nights ago. Was watching something on Youtube iirc, system locked up, I hard rebooted and no signal.
Tried everything, troubleshooting RAM, CPU, Mobo, PSU and GPU, narrowed it down to GPU, using an ancient GPU from 2010 to get me by right now.
Stupid me even sold my previous rock solid 5600XT.

Anyway, brace yourself if you ever decide to google "6700xt no signal out". Good luck to you sir.

    Hodl?

      Hodl!

  • Just got a new rtx 4080 off eBay for $1400 so worth looking around for deals like that if you cant find them.

  • +1

The size of this card is unreal! Finally something that can fit in a more compact case. 2 x 8pins so it could be use with a good quality 650w PSU as well.

  • Will this fit in the bpctech nuc pc that was recently linked? I bought that with the upgraded psu and 64gig ram and need a gpu to go in it

  • +1

Man I wish Amd card can do good stable diffusion stuff.

    • -2

      I wish an i30 was a corolla

    • They work well under Linux. I'd love for AMD to wake up their devs and release ROCm for windows soon, but it seems more likely they'll continue to focus on the enterprise market with the MI300 etc.

Wow what a bit of super cheap gaming! Recession? Inflation? What recession…

    • +7

I just paid $14 for a block of coles brand cheese.

      • +1

IGA has Black & Gold 1KG cheese for $11 everyday price

Man what a waste of money. It was 2k like 6 weeks ago. Will probably be worth $5 in 6 months.

I'll skip this race to catch a falling knife. Seems like a good deal for AMD to replenish demand, not so much a good deal for their customers.I I mean honestly it's still $1300 for an AMD gpu. What comes next a 100k Hyundai i30?

    • Naw, hopefully a 4090 for $2.5k :).

It was 2k like 6 weeks ago.

WTF? Deals for reference XTX's started at $1.8K from mid December last year

      • -1

Ummmm "for the reference model". I'd say my comment is awfully accurate then. Didn't need to take it so literally to the nearest cent, but it looks like I was correct anyway. 1.8k is more than close enough

I see you haven't met ol'mate jimmy before, check out his comment history for some laughs (& yes, it is just page after page of him shitting on gpu deals)

People pay $5k for handbags. If it's not worth the money to you then don't pay it, but don't attack people who think it is. Some people have different values to you and that's ok.

      • Awful reading comprehension. I said it was a waste of money and obviously attacked the company. But yeah if people think this is worth it I'd call them silly & out of touch. They were only ever worth $1000> due to crypto, now crypto is gone what's the justification for retaining their pricetags? infwation?

  • Should see a 7900xt hit $1099 if it has an equivalent discount.

  • +1

Prices are finally making there way down to sane prices ! if only the 4080 came down to this price. i'll keep waiting lol

  • +1

This has more votes than free Domino's $14.?
That means overweight not likely by overeating but overseating ;)

  • Price back up to 1439

  • What is 7900 XTX nvidia equivalent?

Is ray tracing the only real difference?>

    • +1

closest Nvidia card is the 4080. The 4080 is better for VR, Ray Tracing, and fake frames. The XTX has more VRAM and costs less.

  • need a mid-level card

  • Is this the version that had problems with less liquid in the Vapur Chamber? This card looks exactly like the AMD one.

    • +1

it's likely. same factory, same design, different brand and logo.

      likely same card.

  • I saw this deal but ended up getting the Asus TUF 7900XTX for $1439 instead, seems like a more solid card.

    • the cooling on it seems better.

      it's MASSIVE tho

  • Still not selling fast enough at this price. Good

    • +2

They are doing fine - Umart/MSY combined are selling on average 5 of these cards per day

Sapphire and ASUS have a total of around 30 reference cards remaining in Australia so all reference stock will be gone by end of August

      • been using my reference XTX for a week now. it's great.

        350+ mods in Skyrim ;)

        • +2

          Nice

          Been testing the W7900 48GB

          JimmyGPT-77 coming soon to OzB

  • I want a deal on the 7900 xt reference.

  • price is up, its now $1376

  • I am in the same boat as many others. I have a nice new build .. i9-13000K and other goodness. At the moment I am still using my old 1080ti which has given me many years of service and cost me around $700 on a black friday sale back in 2016 ish.

So will a 7900 xtx be a usable card for as long as cards like the 1080ti have been or is it better paying the Nivida tax and getting a 4080 if it will be usable for longer like the 1080 ti (Though 4080 are readily available around $1600-$1700 now) ?

    • +1

It depends on your use case but broadly, if you don't already have an ATX 3.0 PSU, don't care much about ray tracing, and have lots of space in your case then the xtx is a clear winner.

4080s are also very hard to get for $1600 right now far as i can tell.

  • Deal marked as expired but there are still a few cards in ACT ($1360) and QLD ($1373)
