Which Small TV Is Best and Why?

Which is the better TV for kids bedroom both of similar prices right now?

I believe my daughter’s one Hisense but from couple of years ago, looking to get one for son to stick away for Christmas. He does have an old Wii he plays on a DVD TV his switch is on main TV.

Hisense 32A4HAU Vs TCL 32S615-AU

Thanks

  • Why kids need TV in their bedroom ?

    • -3

I grew up with tv in mine so don’t see why not, play games watch tv without distractions list goes on.

      • Nothing wrong with a tv in a kids bedroom if you can afford it and they stick to the rules.

  • IMO wait until closer to Christmas. Tech depreciates quickly, so no point buying do early.

    • Well both are clearance items and one store has 15% off well a few stores currently have them around same prices. Don’t see why buy now stick away for Xmas one less thing to buy later newer tech means more and higher prices and these will be good enough even if Xmas is 6 months away.

  • I went with TCL as it runs Android TV while Hisense has it's own proprietary VIDAA U5 operating system. Both have 3 year warranty. By Christmas time they will be even cheaper… $196 at JB today.

  • Not sure what the tcl link is for not a 32in other one is right one, these are 2022 tvs so can’t seeing them around still then but newer higher price models.
I was tempted by tcl model was looking at the android tv at but reviews are not good on the tv though.
The Hisense is recommended more but has no andriod which is annoying but I could add a Amazon stock to sort that?

    What’s $199 at jb today?

  • +1

Just grab one for $40 on marketplace

  • buy now stick away for Xmas

The warranty will start from when you buy it, not from when you start using it.

    • That’s ok most tv I have had have lasted fir year just had an old plasma from 2009 just pack in I believe there was vid on you tube to fix but was good excuse for me to jump into 4K, currently have my 3D tv from 2016 still going strong.
But it’s nice both brands offer such long warranty when most others just offer the 1yr

  • Get your kid an iPad / other tablet / Nintendo Switch…etc. which are all much more useful and versatile than a bedroom TV IMO.

Like you, I also had a TV in my bedroom growing up - mine was a tiny 34cm CRT with bunny ears that I remember extremely fondly. However, times have changed, a TV is not particularly useful for kids (either from an educational or entertainment perspective), and if you're going to spend the money, you might as well get them something more enjoyable, if not more versatile.

  • They already have those devices.
