So it looks like KFC has removed the ability to do this in the app but conveniently if you do this in the in store touchscreen order kiosks it still works.

Important now just in case your app doesn't give you your KFC in July deal.

Steps for those who haven't done it yet:

  1. Add a large shared meal to your order (anything ending in "Feast")
  2. On the next screen that pops up, choose to add 4pc Original or 6pc Hot & Spicy for $7.45
  3. Go to your cart and remove the feast from the order
  4. Checkout the order

Edit: It looks like if you do this in the app and customise the pieces (e.g. change the original recipe to Hot&Spicy) that the hack works for the app still!

    I understand that you need to customize either the 4 original pieces, or the hot and crispy…. but customise it to what though? I can't customise it to one or the other, nor can I change the number of pieces.

    We need to band together people.

      You can customise the Original Pieces by setting your store location to one located in QLD or WA, where they sell Hot and Spicy permanently. Then change the store back to the one you actually want to order from, modify the 4 piece add-on by changing the pieces back to OR, then it works.

      This hack doesn't work with Hot & Crispy Boneless because you can't change the pieces to anything else. You'll have to use the in store kiosk to obtain the H&C Boneless Add-On.

      I could only customise the sauces for 5 tenders option. But that works. Can even order multiple lots of the tenders after removal of the shared meal.

    More expensive $7.95 for 4 piece add on at my local.

    Goes well with 3 wicked wings for a dollar today only but, definitely not as good as 9 for $9.95 like back in the day.

    Works using instore kiosk. $7.45 for 6 piece hot and crispy plus a free 600ml drink is an excellent value, great light lunch or afternoon snack.

    Those who are new like me:
    - You are basically buying Add On menu items that are not offered in the normal menu selection.
    - Add Ons are cheaper than their normal counterpart.
    - You are offered Add On menu items as soon as you put any Feast into cart.

    Just tried it using the kiosk and it worked.

    Beware:
    Ordered at kiosk today at Highpoint KFC.
    My order was not prepared or called out.
    When I asked staff to check on my order, they looked it up and found it in their system as "cancelled" or "failed" and "zero dollars", and it did not appear in their queue of orders to make.
    If I did not have the QR code receipt on my phone, I wouldn't have any proof that I had paid $7.45.
    As it was, the manager decided to pack the 4 pieces for me but it seemed really 50/50 as to whether I was going to receive zero chicken for my money.

      Same, no issues with my hot and crispy add-on order earlier in the week. Used the kiosk and was the only thing I ordered. When they asked for name, I only put in my initials.

    Come to KFC today just to try the hack LoL. It works with the kiosk but their Original Recipe tastes like boiled chickens so won't use it again
