      • Sorry a bit confused, which one would you prefer "pressure cooker with the air fryer lid"? Is it the ninja foodie or the vortex? I think there's a ninja foodie multi cooker that has the air fryer lid? I'm also looking for a similar device as I have limited benchspace.

        • +1

The pressure cooking one does so much more and would be my 1st choice. My husband only used it as an air fryer for more than 2 years.

I used the ninja foodi as both for almost 4 years and was happy to use it as an airfryer too.

    • I bought the Duo during Black Friday and haven’t used it as an air fryer yet. I’m seriously considering buying the vortex because the Duo can’t stay on the bench and is a pain to unload all the bits that get stored inside it. I reckon the actual air fryer would do a better job too - the Duo basket is pretty small.

If you’re gonna use the air fryer lots or will have a semi large load, go the Vortex. If not, or if bench space is at at a premium but storage is not, go the Duo

      • Same here. I looked at the cleaning required and just didn't bother. I ended up getting one of the smaller instant air fryers. Works very well.

Thanks OP, got one. The Instant Vortex Plus is still America's Test Kitchen's favourite air fryer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Io5a4Vm5oTA

The instant pot here is 5.7l.

If anyone wants bigger 8L, then duo crisp gourmet is on sale on Intstant brand’s website.

    Thx op
Currently in bunk room for the skii season and been waiting for a sale on the multicooker
Hopefully will find space to store it

  • Can anyone with the vortex plus share the detailed experience in cleaning it?
In particular, how do you clean the top side of the inner part (where the heating element is)?
Usually food bits splashes all around that part sticking and becomes charred but unlike in the oven, it is impossible to clean.
With the vortex plus, is it the same like in other air fryers?

    • Set the unit upside down and clean with a damp cloth.

  • I bought the oven type during the last sale. I would recommend it. It has a rotisserie that I always use to cook beef and pork roast, no need to turn the food over and has a glass door to see the food inside while cooking. The inside is easy to clean with the removable door. I previously had philip and tefal air fryer and the oven type is much better overall.

  • Is there any youtube video which shows what we can cook in these air fryers or in the cooker one?
Will it be able to make some indian dishes ?

    • It's literally just a mini oven.

  • Anyone use the dehydrate function?

I’m keen to slice orange, lemon, lime for drinks.

Had to return ours. The plastic fumes burning smell would not disappear. Did initial runs of 5x 60min outside the house.

Spent bit extra for philips and no smell.

    • +1

Exact same - it cooked well but filled the entire house with an awful smell.

In true ozbargin style I went to buy this one as it was a bargin (even though I did not need it). Then decided to research and bought a newer model as it was quieter but not as cheap…. Hmmm I failed….. but I do have a new air fryer that yesterday I did not think I needed…

    • Which one did you end up getting? I only see the black ones that are international/extortionate shipping

  • +1

Too bad the 8L one isn't at the previous low of $160 else would have bought.

  • +1

Wanting to get the air fryer but worried that 5.7L would be limiting, anyone have any thoughts on the Russell Hobbs Satisfry https://amzn.asia/d/fnLxyGW

    • I thought the same with the size. I'm yet to pull the trigger as I feel 8L + would be a much better size for us.

  • Fyi, the parent company Corelle/Pyrex has gone filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

    • +3

Someone will buy them up, Corelle, Pyrex and InstantPots are too big a brand for it to die completely.

Regardless, you are buying from Amazon, any issues you just let Amazon deal with it.

  • CAN IT FIT WHOLE CHICKEN??

    • Bin chicken

    • Not sure of this brand you linked. However, I have a 12l oven type air fryer (Healthy Choice brand but similar looking) and I have to admit I was underwhelmed. These oven type models suffer from the same issue irrespective of the brand; if you are using multiple racks, the top one will be crispy but the bottom one will be soggy. Even the chips didn't come out crisp to my satisfaction despite using the rotessiere to get them to evenly fry.

      • "if you are using multiple racks, the top one will be crispy but the bottom one will be soggy"
Thats also one of the benefits.
Chips on the top rack, foil wrapped fish fillet on bottom rack = crispy chips and moist delicate fish. Try doing that in a basket AF

        • You might as well get dual basket fryers for that and you will have better control over both.

          • @Krishg: But then you're restricted in the maximum size of what you can cook. The instant pot 10l is the most flexible AF imo as no other single AF offers as many options in a minimal footprint

    Hi all.
Thanks for the post, and comments.
    Ordered one!
    Arrives today.

I have the the duo crisp + air 8L for $156.12 in my cart.

I thought this price was only for the 5.7L. Good deal

    • +1

Yeah I’m confused, the product name states it is 5.7L, but the deal and my order confirmation specified that it is actually the 8L Duo Crisp + Air Fryer. Choosing the 5.7L option actually increased the price to $218.50. So am I going to receive the 8L or 5.7L? Who knows. Bought one anyway. Will be making rapid pho if all goes well.

    • I ordered the 8l at the low price but description said 5.7l. ( If i selected the 5. 7l the description said 8l and higher price.)
Just received the 5.7 version. Will be returning it.

      • +1

Yes I received mine yesterday and it was the 5.7L version. I’ll keep it because the price was still alright, but the description was very misleading.

square air fryers > round fryers

  • How does this compare to the Philips series of Air Fryers?

    • +3

Would like to know as well whether this or the Philips XXL is better value for money considering the Philips is about double the price of this one currently

  • how is vortex plus compare to Ninja XL

  • I also own this and love it. Did not even want an air fryer but got stuffed around by oven repair company for months so needed a short term fix. Oven got fixed, but we now use this more.

  • +1

How about this https://www.mydeal.com.au/instant-pot-8l-gourmet-crisp-air-f… for $189 + shipping + use (PARTY) code to get $10 off, however not sure what's the difference between gourmet and duo version..

    • As far as I've read the gourmet version has "Americanised" labels (grill vs broil etc) but is essentially the same.
      Costco sells the Gourmet version.

  • Looks like its gone?

  • Already owned a Philip XXL air fryer. Should I get a duo plus or duo crisp? Both have about the same price…

  • Has anyone bought the 10L one? Pretty good price $189. Any good reviews?

Instant Pot Vortex Plus Air Fryer Oven, Stainless Steel, 10L Silver https://amzn.asia/d/1LBYT4E

    • Would like to know too. During Prime Day I was hoping the price would go to $99 like it did in May, but hasn't dropped lower than $189 for a month.

      • Amazon was price matching Catch at the time, and Catch has since sold out.

      • Ohh wow! Didn’t know it dropped to $99. Oh well, Not in rush as we have one smaller ones already

  • Sigh, no rice button i can see.

  • Amazon never delivered and I just got refunded 😔

  • I got this one but not too happy with it. Makes a lot of noise while running. Coating on the tray has come of slightly at one place. Also the rubber along the 4 sides of the tray seems like it may come of eventually after a few uses. This is my first Airfryer so not sure if these things are common across other brands of Airfryers as well. Does anyone else's unit also make a lot of noise while in use?
