As much as I love downvoting an IC Station "deal", I can't find this exact kit being sold elsewhere. Well played IC Station.

      • Nice find, so not really a bargain then. More like using OB for free advertising.

          Except that US12.27>US11.48?

          • @Punkboy: Huh I said it's not really a bargain?

            • @WatchNerd: LOL I've said similar to others in the past only to be haughtily told that this is Ozb and every dollar counts.

Or get the RGB Bluetooth Gaming Speakers @Kmart for… $19.00 (was $35)

@WatchNerd LOL, I think you missed the point of a kitset.

  • Thanks OP, keen to get this for my kids to play around with electronics/soldering.

They would be using this with laptops - any chance something wired up wrong could damage the laptop?
Would one of the wireless/bluetooth kits be safer?

      Not really.

Voltage down the data line of the USB connector can be a bad time, but most USB ports now have self resetting fuses built on, so it's only dead for so long as you keep the machine powered on.

Or you know; supervise the USB port power step with them; everything else will just either work or not.

      Thank you for your support!
Generally it will not damage the laptop, because the laptop needs to output the audio signal through the AUX interface.
This one does not support wireless Bluetooth function:(

  • Always thought of building a pair of munny speaker for fun….this might be the kit for it.

but I now have a soundbar for my desktop PC - but it would have been a good fun experience building that otherwise.
