Tick Insurance are offering 15% off new policies due to recently being awarded as Canstar 2022 Award Winner for Outstanding Value.

Their Standard and Top Cover policies do cover COVID-19 and seem to have higher general inclusion values than CoverMore or World2Cover, albeit with higher $200 default excess.

Cheaper to just use the free cover that comes with credit cards.

      why neg this?

I have read the policy documents - my credit card has the exact same limits (some are lower but more than enough) as paid travel insurance!

I paid $12 extra just to increase the car damage waiver… Everything else was the same or better using the credit card.

        • didnt know you can adjust them. what card was this?
          I use Citibank Premier

          • @ChatCPT: CBA Visa

There were some options to add/increase cover.

            Car waiver from 2.5K -> 6K was $12 extra

I need a travel insurance for a couple: Travel to North Africa + Europe, September-October. Do you recommend this one? I'm not familiar with Travel Insurances, what should I be looking for exactly? I'd appreciate any recommendations or tips.

Unfortunately, I paid most trip expenses with CommBank debit card and Revolut. I'm assuming there's no default travel insurance with these?

    Thanks in advance.

      the fine print.

    • Apply for Bankwest Platinum credit card. The free travel insurance has everything including medical evacuation and covid coverage except the travel cancellation is extra. You do not have to use the card to buy tickets or accomodation to be covered. All card holders and immediate family members are covered during the trip.

      • Hey! Question regarding credit card travel insurance. I just opened a NAB Platinum Rewards card which does have complimentary travel insurance. But I didn’t book the flights with said card (got Qantas Classic Rewards seats and paid taxes before signing up for the credit card)

Do you know if the same applies for that card? Like is it a standard across all credit cards with travel insurance that you just get it and don’t need to book the flights with said credit card? Or is that JUST for the Bankwest Platinum you mentioned?

        • u can read the insurance T&C of ur card in their website. Some cards said zero, some card said min $500 spents on trip (flight/hotel/other tickets), some said $2000, some said must pay full flight tickets.

          • @zoecot: I’ll have a browse through the T&C’s for sure, just wasn’t sure if it was like, a blanket industry standard that CC’s let you use their travel insurance even if you didn’t book flights with em or something

    No cruise cover!

  • Is medical evacuation covered (under medical expenses) or simply not covered at all? There seems to be no mention of evac anywhere.

  • Tick Insurance?
    Gross name

  • No Cruise cover

  • It doesn't look as if it has annual multi-trip
