I'd go even cheaper and buy a FFalcon - Budget brand TCL's budget brand :D

      • +1

FFalcon? LG? Personally I’d go with famous brand name electronics like Magnetbox, Panaphonics or Sorny.

Considering this is an OLED, yes.

      • +3

I'm amazed at the number of people talking up TCL screens on this website.

        • +6

Especially considering TCL purposely saves their dogshit panels for the Australian market. Though that's not to say things can't change.

          • @TsundereGuy: 100% this

          • +1

@TsundereGuy: You’re mixing it up with Hisense

            • +1

@cille745: Well aware of Hisense, though I've still heard many a bad story of TCL over the years. In many instances (it's possibly changed) in the past they sold TVs with bizarre model names that didn't match up with the US market. In the instance they did sell similar models they were usually gimped. This is mostly anecdotal, though the odd reviewer had also pointed out inconsistencies.

Absolutely Samsung, Sony and the like make questionable decisions as well, I'm not knocking that. Though even in the hypothetical that QC between brands was comparable, the deceptive naming schemes and spec changes makes it difficult for people to get a gauge of what's what with TCL and Hisense.

          • +2

@TsundereGuy: Add Hisense to the list that dumps shitty panels for Australian market too.

        • +1

Sure, if you base your opinion purely on the brand of the TV, Sony and Samsung make plenty of bad ones too. Ironically TCL make all of their high end panels anyway

The C845 is fantastic for half the price. I was using a smaller C2 before and don’t miss it in the slightest

    • I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic

  • Not a bad deal if you can stack this with gift cards for another 10% off.

    • Where are we getting 10% off gift cards?

      • I usually purchase Ultimate Gift Cards when they are 10% off at Coles or Woolies. I have also purchased gift cards from Redeemyourgiftcard (I would suggest reading what other OzBargainers think about Redeemyourgiftcard) as well. Also it's worth checking if your employer has any rewards programs that include discounts on gift cards, as well as your super fund rewards.

Recently upgraded from a c1 to a c3, definite improvement in panel and speedier processor. If your after an oled can reccomend, although still prefer googletv over webos.

    • +1

So this would be just as big of an upgrade from a cx?

      • +1

Yeah would think so, for me it is def brighter with the evo panel and gen6 processor over gen 4 much quicker navigation and apps start much faster. Also it weighs less, i went from the 65 to 77 and the 77 weighs less

  • If you want it brighter, couldn’t you just turn the brightness up ? Not sure speed is something in ever concerned or noticed in my TV. I’m usually just watching stuff. It’s not like it’s a computer or a Tesla Plaid.
