  • Get benchmarks or compare the 7850 to a card you know:

    http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/543?vs=549

Bang-for-buck looks pretty good (more performance than most people would need of course, without very high res or multiple monitors).

  • Doesn't seem that good assuming shipping from the other places is decent. http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=hd%207850&p…

Apart from brand (cooler + packaging and perhaps some extras?), the difference is pretty negligible… Very slight overclock on the Asus over the others.

I'd rather have an ASUS than a generic brand if only for warranty and service purposes. ASUS have a repair centre in Perth, for example. That being said, you can get Gigabyte cards for $249 and MSI for $255 (ex shipping).

    • Well, you are paying a bit extra for the ASUS cooler which on the GTX670 is barely audible on all loads. Not sure if its the same cooler but they do look quite similar.

Hmmm… yeah. Same price, but you get 3 free games!

There was a price cut on the 7850 among other Radeons just over a week ago:

It's not clear whether these have filtered through to Australia - maybe NetPlus is getting in early. The 7850 prices I've been keeping an eye on at PC Case Gear look about the same as they've been for the past couple of months.

MSY have the Powercolor 7850 for $219 so I think we're starting to see the price drops.

  • I'm presuming this card not worth upgrading upgrading from a ati 5850?

Any chance of a good deal for another of the 7850 brands? The ASUS model is too long for the case I'm putting it in.
