Better wait and get the 45 pack. Unless you need the 4 ply

    • it is oos

      • +1

        48 pack in instock for 22.73 S&S

      • Quilton 3 ply 48 pack showing up for $22.73 with S&S

    • +6

48 pack is better value but no inner packs if it’s a big deal to some

      • +1

48 pack is 3 ply, whereas this is 4 ply.

      • +4

45 pak quality is better than 48 pack

      • sorry, not familiar much with the term "inner packs"
could you please elaborate on which ones they are and what they're for?
        thanks

        • +7

The pack of 45 is packaged differently - it comes as 9 packs of 5, while the pack of 48 comes as a pack of 48

          • +4

            @BargainsGrabber: *Comes as 5 packs of 9.

The price of the 48 pack is usually slightly higher, making the price per roll the same.

  • $0.99 discount for Quilton 4 Ply Absorba Paper Towel (60 Sheets/Roll) 24pk. Was $22.50 S&S Nov 2022

    Absorba Paper Towel (24 pack) $23.90 ($21.51 S&S)

$13 ($11.70 S&S) not even 2 years ago. It's amazing how our definition of a deal changes over time.

    RIP inflation.

    • O.O

    • -1

when it was $12 it was 12 pack now it is 24 pack

      • The 12 pack was $7.47 in 2021

    • +10

Corporates took advantage of COVID/war on Ukraine/climate change to increase everything ongoing by more than 50%-60%. People ate the BS, so they thought, they won't notice the corporate greed.

      • +4

People still eating the bs today

      • Also the government took the opportunity to create hundreds of billions (if memory serves) in bank bailouts and hand it to their banker friends, thereby increasing the number of AUD and reducing it's purchasing power (the reason why counterfeiting is illegal outside of banking). They didn't increase prices, they reduced the value of each individual dollar so we need more of them to buy the same items.

    • +1

      wasn't that for a 12 pack?

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/687190

    • this Quilton 4 Ply: Toilet Tissue (30) only cost $12.3 S&S 2 years ago based on my purchase history 😂

  • Too thick, too soft, too expensive!

  • +20

To compare the prices in the same currency, 140 sheets x 30 rolls = 4200 sheets, for $19.26. —> $0.46/100 sheets.

    Price of 48-pack, 3-ply in comparison, 180 sheets x 48 rolls = 8640 sheets, for $22.73 (regular price). —> $0.26/100 sheets.

You need to pay 20c more per 100 sheets to enjoy soft and thick tissue. Fair enough if value of someone's enjoyment of using it far surpasses the price difference.

On a sidenote, I feel that Quilton's 3-ply tissue quality has been going downhill over the last 2-3 years… especially the outer-most layer of the roll always looks tattered and they don't seem to care enough to fix the issue in manufacturing/packaging.

    • +1

Aldi 3ply is better than Quilton 3ply.

      • Good to know.. and in price? I suspect Amazon won't be too bad considering 10% discounted gift cards and S&S discount. I like the comfort of delivery with such bulky items and Prime comes handy.

        • +7

They have stopped shipping in cardboard so now you get the actual toilet paper package without any external package - they just stick Amazon sticker on and ship. I have t felt so ashamed where Aust post driver rang the bell and handed me toilet paper package. 😂

          • @expertreader: I used to love the cardboard boxes. Asked about it once and got told it comes from a different warehouse and thats how they pack it. Now i been getting a few deliveries that have been damaged in transit. Need to start claiming for a refund

          • +3

@expertreader: When ordering they do have option at the bottom to select manufacturer packing or Amazon packing. Have you ever tried?

        • How do we get 10% discounted amazon gift cards?

      • Aldi TP is the same as Quilton TP as it all comes from the same manufacturer.

        • The condition is much better, why is that? As someone else mentioned here the quality seems to be less good from Amazon.

          • +1

@Thrifty Dan: Yeah I don't get it either tbh. Same manufacturer, same warehouse, yet different quality. Makes no sense to me.

    • +1

Oh really…. I’ve just run out of my 2 year supply so I might be in for a shock >.>

    • +2

Basically double the price for 1 extra ply? Crazy

    • +1

Agreed. Get a Costco Kirkland one is $0.34 per 100 sheets and quality is superb.

      • +1

Costco pricing in Aus sucks.. this price you mentioned is so much higher than Quilton 3-ply price even on Amazon. On the name of quality, would one pay 30% more despite buying in bulk and going through terrible experience in the crowded Costco stores? If I am driving all the way to their store and facing so much of inconvenience, I would expect a deal in all aspects, including pricing - not just quality.

        • Its actually 0.255 per 100 sheets. $32.99 for 48 rolls of 270 sheets if my maths is right! I just looked at when I bought a 48 pack of Quilton on sale at Amazon last year for $22 and it comes up to nearly the same. Easier to grab at Costco if you're there instead of waiting for a deal. It used to be $5 cheaper at Costco so that was pretty worth it but just recently had a $5 jump.

in terms of quality, i prefer quilton as it feels slightly thicker, but Costco's one is wider.

    • the outer-most layer of the roll always looks tattered

Yeah I noticed that with the 48 pack I got in March.

  • Good timing down to my last roll.

    • +2

Now that's living life on the edge.

      • don't worry, I am pretty sure he have got water somewhere in the house

  • Good price on the quilton double length 20 pack. OP perhaps worth adding into your post too!

  • +10

This is on special at Cole’s as well - $18 unles I’m mistaken?

  • +1

Miss the days when the benchmark is $0.38/roll (not the double or king size)

  • Unfortunately, I find these too rough for me.. causes irritation :(

    • +1

Quilton quality has definitely changed over the last few years. What used to be super soft has now become rougher and more like what the cheaper brands provide.

  • +1

The king size 4 ply at Coles is $15 for 20 which is technically better value at 63c per but I'll grab a 30 pack for the sake of it.

  • Wow never knew paper towels are that expensive now and we go through it like a rash

  • +1

We normally get Kirkland from Costco, the price has really gone up. Was around $22, and periodically goes on sale for under $20. Then $24, $26.

    Last week was $32!

  • Big fan of the triple length paper, don't have to change it as often lol so I almost can't go back.

    • +1

When my kids go to the toilet, I sometimes find an entire roll in the dunny!
triple length would surely block up my toilet for good!

      • Oh yeah, I was a bit like that when I was little. I had no idea how to use it. So just grabbed a handful at a time lol. I get ages out of one now.

  • +1

I usually buy Confidence 3-ply 24-pack Toilet Paper $10.59 @ ALDI, can someone please explain me why should I get this deal instead of Aldi? 🤔

    • +2

Big fan of the Aldi Confidence TP. For context, I have the 48-pack 3-ply Quilton on S&S from Amazon. There's no real reason - I suspect the Confidence is really a rebranded Quilton, it's as good as imho.

The reason I have it on S&S is I don't have to lug it home with the rest of my shopping.

      • Are they cheaper? If yes, by how much?

    • +3

      @bluespider @ultramagnus88 @virhlpool Quilton makes Aldi's Confidence toilet paper

KEEP BUYING HEAPS OF THESE….it's easy for me to pack these over at AMAZON and send it over to you (mod: language)!

    • Amazon don’t repackage this anymore inside one of their boxes
It now comes as the toilet tissue packaging, slapped on with the delivery sticker on it

      • +1

yes because if we box this up…it takes a lot of time.

the amount amazon sell of this product a night you could fill up a a small warehouse with it. imagine packing it all in a box….time and money.

so we slap a sticker on it and chuck it on the belt

        • +2

Much better for the environment, such a waste of packing and then you have to break down the boxes and get rid of the cardboard too.

And there is the added prestige of getting bulk TP delivered to your door, that is living !

          I prefer it this way.

        • Oh, but I want my box with the complementary 1 metre length of packing paper inside though.

On a serious note though, the box saved my TP from soaking up the puddle after it pissed down rain before I got home to get it

  • I jumped on the TP deal a little too quickly - turns out it's available from Coles for $18 so I'm losing $1.26. Too late to cancel :(

    • Why too late? shipped already?

    • +2

Did you actually see stock at your Coles though? In the app I can't see it anywhere

    • +1

Still not a bad price. At least you don't have to go to Coles and carry it home.

  • +9

Yesterday I went to Costco and was shocked to see their kirkland branded double length paper towel 12-pack selling at $49.xx, OMG!!

    • Is tit better quality vs Quilton 4 Ply Absorba Paper Towel?
Too many reviews on Quilton 4 Ply Absorba Paper Towel says it's layers are falling apart.

      • +1

My most recent Quilton Absorba towels from Amazon in April were good. The ones from earlier orders (last year) were crap with the layers split

      • +1

Quilton 4 ply double length 8-pack is good

  • +1

Amazon are scamming you / me too
