  • Thanks, bought two black PETG rolls.
First time printing PETG filaments hope this goes well

    • You'll come to love petg. Petg is fairly easy to print with. Just need to dial in retraction and first layer height. Petg likes to almost be dragged onto the bed rather than squished.

  • Can you provide a guide to shipping costs?
For example 4 * 1kg spools to Brisbane

    • Best to get a quote off the website as it varies based on how far from a major city you are. Or feel free to message me your post code via the website and I can

  • Still no purple PETG :-(

    • Sorry mate. It is available now on the site just haven't had a chance to get the pictures up for it. Will have them tomorrow.

  • shipping cost to Brissy is harsh!

    • +1

I don't think it's harsh, I honestly think you're unrealistic in your expectations. We usually take a loss on the shipping and in rare cases make 30-50 cents. It's the same cost to as to any other city in Australia. I could make the postage free but you would be paying close to cubictech or any other stores prices.

      • Some people don't realise how much shipping costs now compared to a few years back. Big Companies like Synnex, Ingram Micro, Likewize, HP and previously Amazon goto courier companies, and say how would you like 20-50 million dollars a year for the next xx years. All couriers/Post go okay, tell us more. Then they negotiate a better price, provided the couriers provide a service. The prices quoted on the products I puchased was quite reasonable, and in line with what I know it would cost me to send.

Thanks OP, as well as supporting OzBargain.

BTW I bought Black PLA and Pink PETG (my first dabble with PETG).

On a side note, do you know of any Red and Green Filament?

        • I really apreciate you giving such a well worded explaination on the current pricing pains on shipping.

Happy to support Ozbargain as it has helped me when I was poor as.
We have red and green PLA + Petg in stock currently. I personally love printing with the matte red and green petg.
Appreciate your order and if you have the chance do send through some feedback.

    • 5kg filament for 20 dollars shipping fee means I can just order 5kg overture (on sale) or 5kg of 22 dollars filament (always this price) from Amazon and it will be delivered tomorrow (even on Sat, Sun) for free and cheaper than ordering from your site. That is why I said "harsh"

      • +2

All other factors being equal I'd still rather order from a small business at $22/kg versus Amazon. Billionaires do not need any more profits.

      • +3

That's a fair point and something I can't compete with but I'm not trying to either.
If you have easy access to Sunlu or the Amazon specials that's great but my focus is on quality and supporting regional makers.

  • About $20 shipping for 5 rolls (regional) which is about expected. $22 per roll delivered is not bad

    • +1

We are trying out best to get that down as low as possible for regional customers. Hoping to have it stay at current prices and not go up with Australia posts price increase.

      • Still pretty good, and yeah not much you can do as a small business unfortunately.

The best way to extract value from AusPost is still bulk items, hence why I wouldn't order any less than 5 rolls to get the best result.

  • +1

Couldn't find any pla+ on your site. Shipping cost for 1-2 rolls to Perth was $9.14

    • Our regular pla is a pla+ blend as described in our description. Hopefully that clears it up for you.

  • -1

I cant seem to find any mechanical properties of the materials, do you have an info sheet specifically for PLA and PETG

    • +1

We are hoping to have those soon on the site but can't promise when.

  • +1

Mate, I paid for Australia Post standard, why did you still send my filaments via Sendle?

There’s a reason I paid extra for Australia Post as the Sendle delivery is unreliable in my area, this morning they didn’t even ring my doorbell for the PETG filaments that I bought from you

I am really disappointed at your shipping experience

      • +1

Gaming the discounts […] Every cart instance you tried is visible

Are you talking about the Microsoft Edge browser's automatic coupons? It did pop up and I did click on that and it tried all coupons available and that yielded no discounts.
Furthermore, your site offered separate discounts on "5% off at checkout when you order 5+ spools" and "OZBARGAIN promo code", and I was trying to compare prices between these two when ordering the filaments.

then taking advtantage of a bug to get the cheapest postage

Below was my final order as shown on the tracking, please do enlighten me how using your Ozbargain's promo code is a bug to get the cheapest postage? There are no discounts on the Australia Post postage that I paid.
        https://i.imgur.com/xJZDeRT.png
On a side note, you were the one posting this deal on Ozbargain, why would you accuse Ozbargain users of wanting to get the best deal?

Worth also noting that the driver did attempt and took the time to fill the card out.

I just went downstairs to check again and there was absolutely no card left.
Worth noting I did tell you they did not ring my doorbell for access to the apartment building like any other delivery persons would do.

If you have a look under our shipping policy in rare cases we may substitute postage options to make sure your order gets to you. If you would like i'm happy to refund the postage cost but you need to provide correct formatting of your delivery address.

        From your shipping policy:

We reserve the right to substitute courier options for Auspost on regional
customer orders or where we deem it necessary to get your order to you in a reasonable time frame.

What is your "resonable time frame" if your order on your choice of fastest shipping provider is already taking a week just to get from Bendigo to Melbourne?
We were given the choice of shipping providers for a reason and that's why we pay for the different costs.

In my case I paid extra for Australia Post as I've already had bad experience with Sendle in the past and I know even if I miss out on Australia Post delivery I could still collect it at my nearest AusPost office.

I don't understand why you would overwrite your customers' shipping provider decision and in this case it seems to me that you are simply using the cheaper shipping provider (only by a few bucks) and trying to justify that on the "better shipping time".
This does NOT make any sense when you try to align what you did in my case against your shipping policy.

if you would like i'm happy to refund the postage cost but you need to provide correct formatting of your delivery address

At this stage I am too exhausted and hopeless to get this issue resolved properly.
I will be away for the next couple of days which means I will have to reschedule the delivery next week and hoping that the Sendle delivery person will actually ring my doorbell so I can give them access to the apartment building mailbox area.

Your shipping policy and customer service is questionable.
I will not shop at your platform again.

          • @Beerforkids: It's clear to me that we are seeing things from different perspectives. Your accusation that I was "swapping filament types to bug the weight down" is unfounded. I was simply choosing between PETG and PLA, and wasn't aware of any weight bug.

As for the driver carding me, there was no card. I've went down and checked three times today at the mailbox area and the receiptions. It's easy to call someone a liar when you don't have to deal with the issue firsthand. I stand by my statements.

About the formatting of my delivery address, I appreciate your efforts in chasing up and correcting the format. It's interesting as you're the only seller to raise an issue with this and I've used the same address format on similar eshop stores without any trouble elsewhere.

Posting here on Ozbargain was a choice. I wanted to highlight my frustrations and your inappropriate accusations. A simple refund won't erase this experience, which has more to do with the respect and professionalism a customer should receive.

Your readiness to call me a liar and accuse me of playing games instead of acknowledging the problem is quite telling. I'm not looking for excuses or finger-pointing. I shared my experience and was hoping for a more professional response. Instead, I'm being blamed for your system's shortcomings and being labelled a "liar" and a "game player". This simply proves my point about your customer service.

Just to make it clear, I'm not asking for a refund anymore. This conversation has moved beyond that. I wanted to highlight my poor experience with your business to other potential customers. That's why I chose to post here. And, for the record, it was not "playing games" - it was trying to make a purchase from your business.
I've mentioned in the first comment, I was really excited to get my hands on PETG filaments as I've never used them before. Sadly, my experience was far from satisfactory.

This will be my final say on the matter. I've said my piece, and I stand by it.

              • @Beerforkids: I think there's been a significant misunderstanding.

I was not "gaming" your system. I was comparing filament types, trying to decide what I wanted to try next. This involved the filament types you've mentioned, which was mostly PLA and PETG. I considered CF PETG, but since it required a larger than 0.4mm hardened steel nozzle when I looked it up, so I decided against it as my printer couldn't be calibrated properly to print via a 0.6mm nozzle. Sparkle ASA seemed new and interesting, but I didn't want to risk failed prints as I've never used it before.

As for the discount codes, your site allowed me to enter discount codes after one is applied, so I did attempt to do so. It didn't work. I also compared prices between purchasing 5 spools using your website's discount code vs the one from Ozbargain. I ended up using one single discount code, as any customer looking for a good deal would do. This is not gaming the system - it's shopping. I don't understand why you'd make such a big deal about this.

Regarding the time spent on your site, it was not continuous. I am working from home and revisiting your site intermittently. It was not a continuous three-hour session.

I'm not asking for a refund. I've made that clear. I am asking for an acknowledgement that your accusations were unfounded. I was simply a customer trying to make a purchase, not a "game player" or a liar.

As for the delivery issue, all I wanted was a straightforward and reasonable acknowledgement and an apology from your end that you've messed up, instead of accusations and insults that's reflected right back at me.

You've labelled me as the worst kind of customer, yet all I've done is express my dissatisfaction with the service I received and the unfounded accusations made against me. I am a customer who values honesty and respect, and I've received neither from your business. I've already mentioned it's not about the refund, and I don't need your refund, you can keep my $50 - all I wanted was you to take back your insults and accusations of me being a liar and as someone who tried to game your system.

I'm not comfortable with you coming to my place in person, as your continuous aggressive attitude has been threatening and made me fear for my safety. I will inform the police if you still insist on making your way here.

This will be my last comment on this matter. I stand by everything I've said. It's regrettable that this issue couldn't be resolved in a more respectful and professional manner.

                • @blueastro: You keep saying that mate and yet you keep wrighting novels and replying.
The police will laugh at your just like I am now so you go ahead and waste there time because I am going to drop a full refund off to you lol.

Your order was $47.38 and arrived in 2 days and 17 hours not taking the week you claim. Can you tell the truth at all mate or is that hard.

You're still welcome to reach out via the websites live chat, Phone, Txt or email despite my personal frustration with you.

                    @Beerforkids:

You can clearly see that they ordered last Friday. They were the first person to comment on this post and it's in their screenshot.

It may have taken 2 1/2 days to arrive after it was sent, but it did take almost a week from order to receiving. A bit ingenious to call them a liar about that.

I also often add and subtract things from my cart and cross check other sites to see which is the best deal for me. In fact I did it today between you and siddament for my purple PETG. Ended up with siddament as it ended up working out cheaper overall, but your reactions here also didn't do you any favours in a close race. That's not gaming, that's just smart shopping, as an ozBargainer yourself you should know that.

  • 1 roll shipped to my place in Sydney is $27, pretty good price, almost as cheap as amazon which have special deals with shipping companies. Haven't used sendle though and haven't heard good things about them

    • +1

Most metro customers and semi metro get decent prices and it scales fairly well with the more you order the cheap it works out.
Sendle so far from my own data are pretty reliable and fast as they have a lot of partners. And first hand unlike Australia post they haven't lost a package yet.

  • Hi, I'm very much a 3d printing newbie, and have only printed with esun pla+ on my Ender 3 V2 neo given the reviews on how easy and consistent it is. How does this pla filament compare? Thanks.

    • Hi mate, if you've only used eSun PLA+ ours prints exactly the same. I'm running the same tuned profiles that I made for eSun PLA+.
The only difference is our pla is a blend of additives so it's same same as PLA+ just more matte. If you have any more questions or need help feel free to each out.

      • Really appreciate the response. At this stage I'm just looking for easy options as I learn, so if the the same as eSun, that sounds good. Will put an order through tonight :)

        • PLA is the easiest Filament to printer with while learning. If you need anymore help or have questions feel free to reach out via the live chat or store number.

  • No clear PETG 🥲

  • shipping is sort of a killer, as cubic technology is a 5 minute drive away quite convenient to pop in and grab a filament. I will definitely order when i need to bulk up on filament(which looks to be quite soon). Also is the ABS similar to the esun abs or abs+?
