Bosch GL-30 ProPower Bagged Vacuum Cleaner (BGL3PWERAU) $139 (Was $199) + Delivery ($0 Click and Collect) @ The Good Guys eBay

SNSOJUL

1st time poster so apologies if I missed anything. I've been eyeing off the Bosch GL-30 Vacuums for a few months and most of the stores have dropped them to $149 (Good Guys, JB, Amazon, Domayne, etc.) But on eBay you can buy from The Good Guys and get a further $10 off the sale price, bringing it down to $139 if you click and collect (or $149 posted).

These have been $199 and occasionally dropped to $179 but this is the lowest for quite sometime.

I have read some reviews to say they preferred it over the Miele C1 and for this price, I'm willing to give it a crack!

Pros include HEPA filtration, 2200W, lightweight (4.3kg), 4L bag, retractable telescopic pole (Miele C1 won't retract), 10m radius.

Lots of positive reviews, although also some negatives so hoping I love it!

Got that deal ans still goong strong. Prev bosch vac lasted 10 years.

    • Haha yes, i know! This is no $70 bargain but surely with the current inflation, $139 is not far off it!

    • Bought from that deal too and still working as new.

    • So you're saying this model is over 6 years old? …. Could it still be good value at $139 for such an old design?

Bought this vac about 6 months ago

    Hate it

    • How come

The stick/handle thing fits together poorly. Constantly pulls apart. Irritating as hell.

        • Lol that it does! I’m surprised how easy it comes off after a minute or two of using it on the carpet.

        • I've got it. I used to get the same thing. I have to be pretty forceful with it and kind of twist it when I connect them but it doesn't happen to me anymore.

It does it's job but I'm getting to the point that I really want a stick vac… And a robo… And a cleaner

    • Oh no.. why? I'm considering a turbo head. Have yiu tried that? I am over my dyson stick and miss my Nilfisk and they dont seem to sell domestic Nilfisk any more so was hoping this Bosch would make vacuuming slightly less painful!

The ex has my c3 cat and dog. I'll be buying another one when it goes on sale…..

        • Oh no, I just bought this last night..

I had two Miele c1 complete and s5211 they both died within a couple years :(

          • @rob87: Hopefully ours will be better! I have read a few reviews where prople had the mieke c1 and bosch and took the c1 back as they preferred the bosch so hopefully you'll be like them too.

  • Was about to buy this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/785899 but not sure if I should get the Bosch instead.

    • Bosch has bags, hoover doesn't. That could sway your decision?

    • I thought about this too, the way I see it BOSCH is a German brand and Hoover maybe made in china. Bosch is more reputable, less cleaning of filters. Better ratings on product review and merchants website. So I went with Bosch in the end. Haven’t tested it yet but will later tonight.

  • Choice mag gave it 81% as the best budget buy in their latest issue.

Just picked one up and used it throughout the house. It’s a great vacuum. Out performs the two Miele I’ve had that died.
Might need to get a turbo head for it though, on carpet can be a bit tricky.

    • Great to hear that you love it! I'll pick mine up today. If you buy a turbo head let me know which one and if its any good!

    • What's a turbo head?

  • I just happen to be in the market for a new vacuum cleaner, I was considering a stick vacuum cleaner to save on space but as I'm trying to keep my budget to under $150 I might get myself one of these…

    • Stick vacs are great for space and convenience of not needing to plug and replug as you move throughout the house, but I've found my dyson V8 just pushes stuff around/flicks it across the room at times plus my knuckle rubs the top whilst holding the trigger and has a callous haha.. I'm ready for a change!
