Incredible pricing on the 4TB model, I paid about $600 for mine.

  • Will prices drop even further, say early next year?

    • I think theyre expected to climb back up after Q3 of this year? But tbh I'm out of the loop and things may have changed permanently. I know a drop in prices was originally due to high supply, but I think competition amongst component manufacturers has possibly also added influence?

  • Outstanding price. I paid 487 last week, haha.

  • Wow excellent price.

    currently 405…

Updated, thanks mate. Unfortunately mine has already shipped!

Contact amazon support and they can credit/ refund the difference. I just did it for my order.

I asked support and they said to wait till it is delivered and then they can check for me

I don't want to have to cancel and reorder due to stuffing around with cashback, etc as well as having another $400 charged on my card

Edit: I got transferred to another customer support rep and they credited my account with a $10 Amazon credit.

Worked out well in the end :)

        • I contacted support, and initially they said no, they don't price match, even their own prices, followed with a bunch of terms etc.
When I mentioned OzBargain, and that several people have already contacted support and received a credit for the difference, he went to check and issued me with a $7 credit.

Sounds like it's not set in stone, and up to their discretion. I tried something similar last year with a 7700X Cpu, that dropped in price by almost $100 2 weeks after purchase. They refused the refund then, and I had to repurchase at the new price, and return the old one for a refund.

          • @HiredGoon: Did you pay shipping to the return the 7700X? I tried twice to get some credit (mine has already shipped) and even invoked OzBargain. Both solutions were to purchase again at the lower price then return the first one when it gets here.

The first agent told me returns are free but trying to initiate one now shows that $16 will be deducted from the refund amount. The second agent assured me that the $16 will be refunded once Amazon receives the item. Given the first person gave me false information, I'm not confident the $16 will be refunded without some action from me.

            • @shng: I believe i did have to pay a return fee for the 7700X, was $15 from memory. Still worth it for the $85 saving.

              • @HiredGoon: Thanks for the confirmation. Absolutely for $85, but not so worth it for $6. Price went up before I decided so moot point.

  • $383 now, at this rate by tomorrow they'll be paying us to buy one

  • Excellent price. I paid mid $400s only a few weeks ago and at the time I thought it was a great price compared to what they are retailing for in Australia.. ! Tempted to get a 2nd one for my new build :)

  • Bought one for $480 a week ago and just missed this one. Stuck with a $400 amazon gift card and I never buy anything from Amazon

  • Anyone have a screenshot of this? Was in my cart however it expired.

  • I’m absolutely would have got a second one for 383 if I’d been paying more attention! Damnation

  • damn, would have got this if i saw it in time…

  • anyone who paid more should try ask amazon support to refund the difference, i'd be interested to know if they will do it now considering the price has gone back up

two of us successfully received credit for the hynix deal, my transaction was on the 11th and received a $13 promotional credit

$21.73 to $29.46 is a much larger discount and the fact this deal is no longer available lowers chance amazon support will do this

I already got a credit for the first price drop. And it was more of a good will gesture, than a requirement on their part. I can't see them crediting me for the second drop, especially now that it's no longer available at that price.

  • To anyone still looking, these are back to roughly their original discounted price of $412.65, not quite as sweet as the $383.27 it got down to, but less of a bitter pill to swallow when you realise it's normally closer to $500-600.
