Great price on the new Eletta Explore (note that this is the ECAM450.55.G version, not the "Titanium" version that does cold brew and has wifi). Prime Day deal and lowest ever as far as I know.

I know the coffee purists will have a whinge about how it's not the same as a "proper" manual machine but honestly, being able to just push a button and have everything done for you is worth a "very-slightly-less-than-perfect-coffee" in my book. This will be an upgrade from another much older De'Longhi automatic machine and I've been enjoying super-easy coffees every day from it for years. No grinding, measuring, cleaning, frothing etc. Just chuck in the beans, plug in the milk jug and press a button.

Each to their own! Enjoy!

  • Does this fall into the kitchen category with the 20% cash reward?

    • I hope so! Looking at the listing it is categorised on Amazon as "Kitchen & Dining"

    • You can always place an other and see how it track. If it doesn't track 20% then cancel the order.

      • +1

you might be better off using Shopback 3.5% on kitchen as the cashrewards cashback is capped at $30.
Shopback works out to be $41.95

        • oh true wow. i did not see the cap i was gonna go use cr.

    • would be nice, looking closer to a 500 dollar budget damn these are exxy

      • You are looking at the wrong segment, Eletta Explore will never be under 1k let alone $500…

        • i mean full auto coffee machines in general, not this particular model :D

          • -1

@ozchobie: No such thing as a good auto milk machine. Breville and Jura go close, but everyone ends up eventually doing the milk manually to get a better texture and temp.

      • I'm happy with the Delonghi Magnifica S Start.

Got it for $491 at Good Guys with a 3 year Gold Concierge warranty (negotiated deal).

I prefer it to the OP model as in my household everyone has a different milk type/preference.

I've heard but not confirmed that the internals are virtually the same across models. At least that's what I tell myself haha

        • Reviews that I read raised concerns about De'Longhi espresso machine build quality, so your 3 years warranty should resolved that
I bought Philips 2200 latte go for convinience

        • Did you buy this recently? How did you negotiated it?

          • @virajsen: Yes about 4 weeks ago or so.

I initially asked in store to price match the TGG Commercial store for $473.

They countered with $493 and 3 year Gold extras, which includes $180 of vouchers over 3 years.

$418 for the machine and $75 for the warranty. Had to buy them together as a package.

        • Is this the one with the glossy black finish?

        • They are the same internally.

Delonghi build quality is very good… But for some reason people don't understand that pumping fine bits of coffee through moving parts, using calcium filled tap water might require 10 mins of maintenance a month.

Rinse the brew head, lubricate it every 6 months, descale when prompted. Will last 10 years doing a few coffees a day.

          • @tunzafun001: Hi, i have the magnifica s and didnt know about rinsing brew head and lubrication. Do you have any guide to how to do it.

            • @Safoan: Sorry I meant Brew group. The bit you remove from the side of the Mag S, behind the water tank.

There is a single screw on top of the chrome shower screen. Remove the shower screen and clean with detergent.

Push the piston up and down. Should slide smoothly with only a little bit of resistance. If stiff, you need to pull the brew group apart, clean, then lube the 2 orings. Youtube would have it covered.
Take note of the small hole under the shower screen where the coffee goes. Its tiny, doesnt take much to throw the performance off. Keep it clean with water, but no detergents here..it will remove the lube.

Next, Inside the machine, at the top, you will see part that goes inside the brew piston with another orange o ring. Again, wipe and lube this oring (wipe around with finger).

P.S lube is food grade grease. If desperate / the piston is stiff to slide up/ down… cooking oil can be used until grease arrives.

              Will keep it going forever.

  • Finally a half decent coffee machine deal and the best they can do is $150 off an old model compare to the newer one?

Prime day is just pathetic as Click Frenzy. 90% junk sale. Anything half decent are given stingy discount from seller and call it a deal? LOL!!!

  • I have the lattego 4300 and does a good job also $769, probably better value if looking for auto machine.

    • Can it do hot milk?

      • +1

        Yes it can
But it can't do cold milk (which this delonghi eletta explore can do)

  • Could anyone confirm what % of cash back did you get tracked?

  • I've had this model Eletta for about 6 months now and I LOVE it. You can tinker with the ground, milk temp, milk quantity etc to get the brew you want. Worth every cent I paid which was about $100 more than this deal (direct from Delonghi website).
