Looks like cheapest all time? Might be price error?

Really tempted to upgrade my mini 2 to this, although I don't really need another controller… From pictures and description looks like it should be the pack that comes with the RC-N1

However it is an import and I think DJI might still have some weird warranty/restrictions region locked (not sure how care refresh works for these) so beware? Someone please correct me on this

  • does it include the controller?

    • +1

Yeah should do, its the controller you need to plug your phone in to

    • +1

      Set Contains:
DJI Mini 3 Pro ×1 DJI RC-N1 Remote Controller ×1

  • +2

Worthwhile getting the new controller.i reckon

    • +1

Eh they both have pros and cons.. RC-N1 ("old" controller) does have better range, ability to use 3rd party apps easily if desired, plus if you have a recent phone the screen would undoubtedly be better

      • +2

The screen on the dji-rc is much better than phone screens in that it doesn’t heat up and go dim like phone screens do. Range i’m not sure of, but even in built up areas the dji-rc has no issues 2km away without interference. Plus no hassle of connecting the phone and having notifications getting in the way if you forget to silence it.

    • +1

Agreed. I prefer the DJI RC over the RC-N1 (mainly due to separate zoom/gimbal dials, customisable buttons, and not having to use your phone for the screen), and is well worth the extra ~$150 when the Mini 3 Pro with DJI RC is on sale IMO (especially if you already have the RC-N1).

    • I got the mini 3 pro with the rc1 and an air2s with the old controller. Only thing that annoys me is needing to download maps on the rc1 but guess you can always hotspot for wifi

  • Weird that Japan is selling the 249g version. I haven’t kept up with these but the first mini was 199g in Japan

  • This a good buy if looking for first drone?

  • +2

Saw this price yesterday and nearly bought it, but from posts I've seen on the DJI forums, there official advice is to not buy from other countries as it may not be covered under any warranties so avoided just in case there were issues. But the drone will function as normal.

  • What if we buy the care from Dji Japan; shouldn’t it be covered internationally

    • Think the coverage is only for the specific country so there may be issues with making a claim if flying in Australia? Best to speak to DJI to check though.

  • For the security conscious, do some googling about this brand. It should not really effect personal use but you never know.

    • +1

Unless you're super sensitive about China seeing the video footage of your local park or mountain bike trail, don't stress.
If you're buying this to fly over sensitive military installations, I think you'll soon have bigger problems knocking on your door :).

      • +2

Up until recently the military was using these to fly over their own military installations.

        • Yep.

I reckon knee jerk reaction to be honest, but I guess better to be safe than sorry.

  • Do you have to pay and import fee ? Gst etc?

    • Amazon takes care of the customs and price should already include GST

  • +3

Spend a little more and get the RC controller folks (the one with the screen).

No stuffing about with cables and plugging in phone/tablets etc. Just turn it on and fly.
I'd also be wary about buying DJI imports. DJI region lock, and you may be able to change your region once you contact them/send them receipt, but you aren't saving a huge amount by buying this from Japan. You're also risking warranty. Not worth the few bucks tbh. Hit up your local JB HiFi. I got a the Mini3 Pro with RC controller with virtually no haggling for $1050. If you just be straight with the person you're speaking to, and say "Listen, you've got the sale already… I just know to ask you guys for better pricing when buying all my electronics here, and you look after me. What's the best you can do WITHOUT GOING BACKWARDS AND FORWARDS and I'll take it". The no bullcrap no back and forth haggling is a relief to them and they'll sort you out.

    • +1

Yep only reason why I upgraded to the 3 pro. Was super happy with the mini 2 and was hoping the RC would be compatible. So convenient just to pick up and fly instead of plugging in, opening apps etc.

    • +1

100% agree, I recently sold my mini 2 to get the mini 3 pro with RC. It’s so convenient compared to having to plug in your phone each time you want to fly when your out.

I also picked mine up at JB Hi Fi via live chat and they did a bundle offer for me. DJI Mini 3 Pro + RC + DJI Mini 3 Pro Fly More Kit for $1248. I only paid $1041 after picking up discounted gift cards (see below for calculation)

Price after negotiation at JB Hi Fi - $1248
I picked up picked up $1250 worth of Ultimate Gift cards from Woolworths at 10% off ($1250 * 0.9 = $1125)
I paid for the Ultimate Giftcards with Coles Mastercard Giftcard which I purchased at Coles for 7.48% off ($1125 * 0.9252 = $1041). I was initially going to pay with this before I saw the Woolworths deal popup.

  • I see the same on Amazon AU store as well unless I'm missing something basic.

https://www.amazon.com.au/DJI-Mini-Pro-Lightweight-Tri-Direc… this link has both varaints

    • Anyone worried about international warranty can buy this I suppose…

    • +1

When you click the non-RC version, you will see it changes from Amazon AU to Amazon Japan. Only the one with the DJI RC (the more expensive version) comes from Australia.

    • +1

It says in the AU page you linked that its imported by amazon japan.

      • That's it… I overlooked…so the expensive is OK to buy then

  • +2

Here I was, browsing OzBargin like an addicted sucker, not even knowing what I was doing…

Nekminnet I am 630bux poorer (bought the old remote version).

    Thanks OP… ..?

    Nah ❤️

    • +2

630? I don't think so, the price was 846. Sounds like you might have bought the non-pro version (camera not as good).

      • Jeez dude. I did go hard at the impulse purchase. Lolol.

        Thank you bro!

I've cancelled and will buy again when this one is in the ~$500s.

        • +1

Yeah I think it's a good price. The drone is pretty much the same and the battery time is reportedly better in the non-pro version. It's just the camera is not as high quality. It's still 4K quality, just not as many fps. For the casual user, non-pro is fine.

          • @PleasureMe: i think there are more sensors too in Pro? that would allow a Follow me mode

  • Price up to ~$909 now.
