Lifepak CR-2 Essential Automatic Defibrillator $2250 Delivered @ DDI Safety

80

Hey Guys,
Long time no post for me, but we are finally back with an Ozbargain worthy deal.

We've received a supplier discount on the CR-2 Essential Automatic Defibrillator meaning we can offer it for $2250.
This is $150 cheaper than any of our competitors.

Some good things about this defib:
Child Mode- press a button to deliver a child appropriate shock
CPRinsight- you don't need to stand away from the person while the machine analyses their heart rhythm, this allows you to spend more time giving lifesaving CPR
High Power- has a 300 joules shock which saves 10% more lives than lower energy defibrillators.

Heard about Cell-AED defibrillators that are supposedly super cheap? There's a big catch.

    Hmmmm….. Looks like a cheap jack attempt….

What date was that posted? Definitely doesn't seem to be '$300 cheaper than last sale price '…. oh wait, that's part was retracted and deleted.

      • Mar 2023… A few months ago.

        • +1

          @jv
Everything was cheaper august of last year.

          • @cheapjack:

Everything was cheaper august of last year.

            Toilet paper wasn't….
            Graphics cards weren't either…
            Used cars definitely were not

      • Yeah, JV pointed it out so I changed it to avoid confusion.
We had it for $2550 on sale since the supplier jacked the prices because of inflation.
Glad they've given us a deal that puts us cheaper than the competition.

    Hey @JV

    You're right.
It was $2055 before our March 31 supplier price rise.

It's been $2995 since with a sale or two at $2550.
Inflation isn't going down, I'm fortunate we could organise with the supplier a discount that puts
us far cheaper than our suppliers.

  • Have they shipped new lids for these yet?

It would be unfortunate for the need to use one to arise and find that it's been drained.

These PubG DLC prices are insane since the game went free to play.

  • Great to see some of the truths about CellAED starting to come out… From our research though they only had a 12 month shelf life? Has this now been extended?

    • +1

Yeah, It's been extended to 2 years. But the price of Cell-AED has increased to $499.
Also, the energy output is super low, 67-81 joules which is lower than the 200j recommended in AUS and the 360j this model does

      • I'm not even sure half the manual defibrillators on the market can hit 360J anymore. I think most like the Zoll X-Series max out at 150-200J… most detect impedance and reduce the energy as well. I'm not sure if 80J would be enough to cardiovert a larger person

        • Yeah, it makes the Lifepak CR2 pretty special being able to hit 360j. The Heartsine models start at 200j and top out at 250j.
It's pretty interesting that the Cell AED only does a max of 81.

BTW have you seen CPRinsight on these models? You can do compressions while this model analyzes which i think makes consistent cpr easier

          • @cheapjack: Not on these models - just the professional LP12 or 15 monitor that lets you monitor the underlying rhythm while doing CPR.

            • @Troymdon: Hey @troymdon
Of course those let you monitor, but this one allows you to do chest compressions while it analyses which is a great time saver.

  • required, after all them KFC deals

      From Zinger to Zapper!

  • Do you service the unit after 8 years or have it replaced completely?

    • You service it. :-) The device has an 8 year warranty which is awesome!
I've seen plenty of older model units still going strong!

      • How much do you charge for servicing? And how often?

        • You can service this model yourself very easily. It needs to be serviced every 4 years or whenever used to replace the batteries and pads. They are once use only.

Other models like this one: https://ddisafety.com.au/product/heartsine-pad500p/ are even simpler. You simply pull out a combined pack and push a new one in.

          • @cheapjack: My apologies, I'm referring to servicing the device itself as warranty lasts 8 years.
I am aware of the ongoing replacement costs of batteries ($360) and pads ($168).

            • @purple1: Ok, so their isn't any in-depth servicing you need to do to the device itself which is great.

You'll just need to follow the operational checks in the manual such as a visual
inspection and ensuring you have all needed accessories present and in good condition.

              • @cheapjack: Ok, but without servicing or re-certifying the unit, there is no guarantee that it will work when the time comes (once the warranty runs out).

                • @purple1: There's no guarantee, just as with any product when warranty expires. But if you change the batteries and pads and regularly inspect the unit to check that the readiness indicator is green, it should be all good and ready to use and many last beyond the warranty period!

    for all the jabbed

So i take it if you or a loved one was diagnosed with cancer or similar disease you would be self managing the diagnosis?

Thanks for saving us taxpayers 1000's of dollars. I call that a bargain.
