  • you can cancel and reorder?

    • that's the plan. Hopefully it succeeds and I dont end up with 8 x 8tb qvos :/

      • You bought 4??

        • +2

Yes. So - guess we can expect another interest-rate rise

I wanted to buy something that would last me "for ever" (TM)

and so fill all 4 bays of my nas with them. should last me a life time at my data creation rate of 500gb a year.

i still have nvme slots on my nas to fill out for expansion once that's "affordable"

i may also do some surveillance video recording onto them too.

          • @FoxJump: QLC isn't the best though so you may find yourself replacing these drives at some point in their lifespan

            • @dogsryummy: Having 4x in Raid5

              2880tbw each x 3

I should get 500MB/s * 3 read speed and 170MB/s * 3 write speed (once the cache runs out)

so 1500MB/s read and 510MB/s write beats any any hdd.

            • @dogsryummy: if i need super speed - there's 2x Gen3x1 and 2x Gen3x2 nvme slots in the nas i can fill out

              • @FoxJump: I think he was talking about reliability rather than performance. Not sure if ssds are good for NAS.

                Try searching EVO vs QVO

  • Great price - easily the lowest we've seen posted.

  • These make excellent Steam drives 👌
