Friend has an $18k home theatre setup with proper ceiling atmos speakers. For the price of the JBLs it gets to about to 70-80% of the experience for a small room. (20sqm)

Only downsize with these JBL 800s is once you have the rear speakers at the back you're only left with 3.1.2 on the front which doesnt sound as "wide" as the other 9.1.4 or 11.1.4 Samsungs soundbars or the JBL Bar 1000.

The sub on this model and the wireless rear surround is the selling point. Sounded better than the Bose 900 with sub and Sonos Arc standalone.

This price is not an all time low as TGG had this at this price plus 15% off effectively making them $675 at the start of July.

      • Very well defined, thanks
Does sub strong enough to shake the floor?

        • +2

I only have the sub dialled down to 50% anything more is too overpowering to the other channels. It has a very noticeable punch that doesn't sound too bloated but it doesn't go as low as 20hz if you're a numbers guy. Sounds better than the Q800 Samsung sub I had tried.

I have it on carpet over concrete so wont be enough to shake that. But 300w is powerful enough that I had to move it from being next to the sofa to next to the media cabinet to the front. Hard to beat this package at this price point. The only real competitive at this price is the q930 Samsung when it's on sale with satellite speakers and wireless sub.

I bought mine about a month from TGG Commercial, $640. Just checked and it's still that price.
Super easy connection with everything, sub is super loud and rear speakers give that Atmos feeling. You just gotta make sure they're pretty close to your head. Watched Extraction and Dune with it and they sounded amazing

    • Hey mate, any idea if they are still $640 from TGG commercial? How hard is it to get an account opened with them? I’ve got a business etc, did it take long for them to open?

Hey mate, I just checked and it still available for $640. I’m not sure how easy it is to get an account, I went through my union who has this special website where you can sign up to good guys commercial and other cheap online stores. Do a search on here and it should give you a list of ways you can sign up

        • Thanks for the reply mate! I signed up this morning, hopefully it goes through pretty quick. What's your thoughts on the Bar 800? I'm very keen on it, never really owned a sound bar before but have wanted one for a few years. I feel as if this is a happy medium for my budget?
