    Max 5 refills per receipt.

Not really "Bottomless" then, is it?

5 refills is not bottomless. Carl will be expecting a letter from my lawyer Lionel Hutz, known for the Neverending Story case

Did these sound like the actions of a man who had "all he could eat"?

I don't use the word hero very often, but you are the greatest hero in Ozbargain history

        • +1

You got downvoted because, I'm assuming, someone didn't realise it was a Simpsons quote..

    • +3

They got the printing all wrong. 'with bottom, less fries!'

  • +4

Just wish they had a location in the Brisbane CBD or nearby :(

    • +4

yep, with the exception of Logan Central, they have positioned their stores at the extremities of Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

      • I wouldn't call Logan Central that much less of an extremity than most of the other stores heh, still a good 25-30km from the city depending which way you go.

    • Ok… American/ big corp idea is to put fast food near "lower income" areas. Because theory is they eat takeaway the most often.

Went to Carl's Jr a couple of weeks ago for the first time, because I thought it would actually be good.

Was shocked at how bad the burger was - just a soggy mess of bland meat in a sugary bun. I thought they were meant to be better than Maccas and Hungry Jack's?!

    • +2

Mate, they are bottom of the barrel, HJ’s is the best beef QSR

      • Here I was naïvely thinking they were meant to be a bit more premium :-(

    • went there when they first opened in SA and the burgers were fantastic. Havent been there for a year or two, sounds like it went downhill since then…

    • My main gripe with Carl's Jr is their burgers are always served cold!!! Portion and quality (at promo price) is actually not bad, but almost a guaranteed disappointment if you expect warm food.

      • They have a 2min service guarantee from when they start your order. But yes, 100s if complaints and they refuse to fix it.

  • If you're hungry and you know it go to Carl's,
If you're hungry and you know it go to Carl's,
If you're hungry and you know it and you really want to show it
If you're hungry and you know it go to Carl's, JUNIOR!

    • Why the hell would someone downvote this?

    Drive-thru, take-away or dine-in.

    Sure buddy

" Max 5 refills per receipt"
They can take 5 refills and shove it up their bottom

    • It does say Manager's discretion, so I guess that is technically on the table.

  • +2

They’re using American Marketing words which are very similar to English words but don’t mean what they mean, like US “unlimited” internet and US “bottomless” refills.

So you can refill, then refill again and again and again and again BUT NOT AGAIN

  • How good are the chips? I love fat chips. Like nandos.

    • The entire franchise is an expensive version of HJ’s

      • +2

Hungry Jacks isn't exactly cheap anymore …….

    • Chips+ chicken nuggets when they are fresh… Perfect… like a 90's takeaway

  • +1

Surely you can just order one serve of fries and they can just give you five serves and be on your way.

Is 'International Fries Day' a Public Holiday in all states or just [QLD, NSW, SA, VIC]?

  • What’s the cost?

  • +1

how much is their large fries by itself?

  • +2

they had decent burgers when they first launched a few years ago. since then the burgers have become a hot mess of crap. grey tasteless meat, sugary dry buns. basically a less tasty, more expensive maccas

  • +7

    Bottomless refill

    1. Order a large fries.
    2. Eat fries.
    3. Bring fries packet to counter for refill.
    4. Staff punches out the bottom of the packet.
    5. Refills bottomless packet.
    6. Returns bottomless, empty packet to customer.

Fatties being pissed that they can't stick their snouts in a never ending fries trough, or pull up to the drive through and load their ute tray full of fries is peak ozbargain

  • +1

not really good fries compared to maccas, hj, kfc. though their waffle fries is pretty good.

    • You lost me at maccas fries being good

    Thanks OP. Loved the chips.
Got em with no salt, then added Nandos spicy salt, voila!
