    I'm on a 107 day streak learning Italian via the Duolingo mobile app. Only ~5-10 minutes per day and I've come a long way! I can string together quite a few basic sentences now :) it's fantastic for free!

    I find the Japanese course on Duolingo to be painful. It's spending far too much time teaching me words like "lawyer" that aren't useful for day to day travel. I find the Michel Thomas style audiobook to be much more helpful.

      I agree with your sentiment however I think it's more about learning structure. As you progress to level 2, you will more travel orientated material.
