This dashcam brand is awesome, killer price

  • How does it cope with Australian summer heat?

    • Had it for about 2 years, no issues so far apart from super sensitive and sometimes buggy g-sensor

    Micro usb… bloody Xiaomi

    • +1

May i know What difference does this make? You will only remove sd card when needed right?

      • +6

Micro USB is the cable. Fuzor is frustrated at having to use an outdated cable. I share the sentiment.

        • I know it's a micro USB cable, I would only worry if I plan to use it with multiple devices. But no way you will be sharing this cable as it always need to be plugged in. But who am I to judge your needs. 👍

            • +5

@Zylam Marex: This is a charge cable only. You only plug it in once and that's it. Micro-usb is cheap and small so no point to add any cost for usb-c.

            • +5

@Zylam Marex: In which part you think their comment is judging people? To me it’s just sharing their own thoughts. In contrast you looking more judging yourself.

      • 🤦

Can 2 of these be used to set up dual channel? Has anyone done it?

    • +1

There’s newer models that support connecting an interior or rear-view camera for dual channel recording

  • hmm this or DDPAI Mini 1296P?

"This coupon can only be used 20 times." error

    • Same here

    • I'm hoping they will refresh the coupon.

  • Any suggestions / options to power this dashcam

I use the front USB port to connect my smartphone. However, my vehicle has only one USB port in the front dashboard , another USB port in the back and the cigarette lighter port is in the boot

    • +6

      get a usb hub lmao

    • +2

Hardwire into your fuse box, make sure you ground it properly. Also you can tuck the cable into panels for a neat look

      • how, more info please ??? many thanks

        • +1

Look on YouTube for dashcam hard wiring tutorials, they have the kits on Amazon.

        • +1

I use these to conect into fuze box.
          https://www.jaycar.com.au/double-micro-blade-fuse-socket-wir…
Connect this to the + cig adapter plus extra wire to ground.

          • @bowjjj: Did you mean connect this to the positive fuse from the cig adapter and the extra wire goes to gound ?

  • 30fps is low

I have this. The battery will fail after 3 months and will require usb power to stay on. The video quality is not good enough to pick out license plate numbers even during daylight, but otherwise it's OK. The app requires registration. The voice recognition is an absolute gimmick and it's 'engrish', I've set mine to eithe Russian, Korean or Japanese for fun. For the price I think it's very good.

    • +18

      Damn, what a strange review.

All negative points but still good for price.. 😅

      • I think what they mean in general to record video of the drive etc.. its good, but for detail etc… its rubbish. Probably goes towards what you are intending to use it for.

    • +1

Didn’t know this come with battery, I think it has capacitor for that 5 seconds after power is cut.

      • +3

        Battery: 240mAh

    • I'll add to this. 1080p at "30 Frames Per Second" is too slow for dash cams even in bright daylight, it won't capture fast moving objects clearly and it's impossible to read number plates unless stopped right in front of you.1080p at 60fps is a minimum recommendation.
