On the twitch stream I think Linus mentioned it was 3AM their time when it ends, which would mean 8PM AEST this evening.

    • +1

Cool, just updated the expiry time

    $300 backpacks COOL

      • So send back to Canada at what… 100$ ….

        • +6

Many stories of people being told to just keep the defective item and receive a refund or replacement item (so then you have two backpacks). I've found their customer service to be very good generally.

        • -1

Just send back to the dropship warehouse in Guandong

          • @ihuntbargains: Where does it say they cover costs of sending back??

          • +1

@ihuntbargains: so the warranty covers obvious defects but not generally shitty designs/workmanship/poor quality materials, and it's a foreign warranty. basically not worth the hdd space the text is stored in.

            • +1

@ssfps: According to reviews it's really well made and they even have a full breakdown video of it for transparency.

          • -1

@ihuntbargains: Why did you send me a PM calling me a neckbeaded sack of shit, then delete the PM?

      • +12

It's the 'Trust me, bro' warranty.

The dichotomy of being both a consumer advocate and self-made businessman is not exactly hypocritical, but does raise quite a lot of conflicts of interest. Things like rightly complaining about GPU prices, whilst also being paid to advertise NiceHash during the crypto boom.

        • +1

Exactly. Jerryrigs is another one - reads sermons on evil companies, electronic waste riding his own moral high horse yada yada and then goes on to sell absolutely trash Raycons on his channel for money. Bloody hypocrites

    • +24

Lol do you say that whenever literally any other tech related company, Apple, LG, etc gets posted?

      • +7

        Tall poppy syndrome.

        • +12

Billionaire Linus (lmfao - he ain’t near that level)

He also employees a ~100 odd people and is doing wonders for the community when it comes to review integrity (actually data driven thanks to Labs and not just based on who offered the most sponsor dollars).

          • +9

@OpticalCog: I’m not entirely convinced Linus is a great boss, but I am very sure he generally means well and certainly isn’t a billionaire

        • He recently revealed that the figure that he was offered to buy was LTT $100M - hardly a billion.

          • @bobbieb: $146,200,680.47 Australian Dollars

$146 million is life changing for money for 99.5% of Australia. People should buy and support whomever they like, however lets recognise that Linus is far richer than anyone most of us know personally and has more money than 99.99999% of Ozbargain will ever earn in their lifetimes.

edit: $110 million if we assume CAD. It was more like USD.

            • +1

              @OzzyBrak: He rejected the offer.

              • -3

@NobalaKoba: @NobalaKoba If you have a house worth $146 million are you poor until you actually sell?

      • -4

        Most certainly are.

The items are manufactured in China. They are sent out from China. Just because LTT designed them, doesn't mean they're not drop shipped.

  • +7

Shame Noctua screwdriver isn't available, yet.

    Streamer merch.

    Cool.

A mate ordered some stuff a while back, they're stuff is average quality China mass produced crap. It just has the LTT logo on it. It's not bad, but it's not the best. It's just overpriced.

You're essentially spending several times the amount for something because it has their brand, and I think it's fair to say most Ozbargainers would not call it a deal. Free shipping at $150 USD is almost expected for such overpay, it's certainly the norm for any actual business out there.

    • -5

You might be right calling it overpriced though this post also misses the part where some things are on big discounts too such as the hoodies being just $30 down from $90 which stacking the deals makes this potentially great deal (I can't truly comment until I get mine but I am keen).

Every item is still at least somewhat custom you are paying for an LTT item not just the LTT logo like you are with most brands (no comment if the item is worth it just that its not a simple brand sticker).

      • +2

I am relatively sure that the logo is actually embroidered on which is cool, but hoodie quality is shit. This was one of the few items my mate ordered plus ridiculous shipping, and it's linted all over a good few months on. Think Kmart $10-15 hoodie material.

30 USD = $44 AUD which is terrible.

Once again I would understand if it were better quality but it is not. It's very average.

        • He has a forum for direct feedback that directly opposes what you're saying the quality or lack quality that your mate said he got tho.

        • I have the wan hoodie and track pants. Also have a $15 Kmart jumper.

My experience is the complete opposite, Kmart hoodie is what you would expect and anywhere the material rubs together with other parts it is just lint balls (think arms / sides / front pocket area). The wan hoodie is significantly better quality and I haven't had any linting issues yet.

I also have the desk pad and it's holding up better than my razer desk pad that it replaces, don't have anything else to compare it against but happy with the purchase.

        • +3

Conversely I've had the original zip hoodie now for 2 years and it's the best non-technical jacket I've ever owned.

Comfortable in a range of temperatures, fits well and hasn't pilled or stretched.

If I lived somewhere colder I would have bought a different design one but I only really need one.

      • +1

Got the hoodie with the orange insides and its been great. Conpared to a pax hoodie (cost more) and kmart, its thoughtfully made, washes well, kept its colour better and has been well worth it for me.

    • +2

Do you mind if I ask what was of low quality? My desk mat and bottle going strong 2 years in

      • -2

It was a hoodie and something else I can't remember, I'll ask him. I think the screw driver?

        • +1

Thats fair! Definitely cant speak to the quality of their clothes.

The screwdriver definitely isnt manufactuted in China. Theyve gone over all their manufacturing process. Itd be a shame if it was low quality though

          • +2

@AusDaniel: Surprised about the screwdriver report. I've got one and it's superb.

            • +1

@Alzori: I got one of the screwdrivers a while ago as a birthday present, I've been pretty happy with it, it replaced my daily driver Wiha, it was around the same price but the racheting is way better and holding 12 bits instead of 6 is pretty nice.

I feel like I can't express how much the ratcheting is just leaps and bounds better, with the knurling on the shaft I actually use the ratcheting a lot just for driving screws in one handed using the knurling first, then when getting to the end using wrist for the extra torque.

    • +2

It's not bad, but it's not the best. It's just overpriced.

Ordered some clothing items from them before, completely agree with this sentiment. The shoulder logo on the swacket was crumbling/peeling within 2 weeks. Underwear isn't too different from Bonds.

The current discounted price is OK, though.

  • +12

I don't see how free shipping over ~$219 AUD is a deal when they're charging designer prices for YouTube merch. Even for many expensive brands, free shipping is usually available for $100-150.

Doesn't apply to their most appealing product for OzB, the scredriver. You would need to buy 3 of them to get free shipping which is not value.

    • +6

Don't even get why the screwdriver is considered so appealing too. Shipped to Aus it's probably at least ~$150 AUD, and for the same price, why not get a PB Swiss which is better quality, and also doesn't have a tacky Youtuber logo on it too (and that's without mentioning other much cheaper options as well).

  • +2

The taxes for overseas purchases pretty much negates it, thanks Gerry

  • +10

Everything on LTT is so overpriced lol. Only Linus fanboys buying off there.

    • Yeah. Only for them Canuck geeks

    • +11

Whatever hater. My wife's boyfriend bought me some stuff from there and it's extremely poggers

  • +1

Thanks OP, I was waiting for a free shipping to grab one their screwdrivers

    • +2

Same for me with a few other things as well just didn't want to pay the delivery.

      • +1

        My brotha from another mother!

  • +1

Would've liked their Collab screwdriver if it was available

    • Love me some noctua brown and beige. But the colour scheme on a screwdriver makes it look like a NSFW tool 😏

  • 150usd…

  • +7

Quality is absolutely dreadful and it's overpriced. Waste of money unless for some reason you want their ugly logo on your stuff

    • just return it under his trust me bro warranty

    • +1

      Misunderstanding, clip with context

      • +2

        Where's the lie

Ehhhh, ain't no-one here got a sense of humour goddam

  • +2

Hilariously he kept getting the tiny violin out about how much money his losing from doing this shipping promo and because coincidently he was sooo late that the shows live viewers are all in Europe and Australia 🙄…. I used to like the wan show but now that it's just a money printing show for him.. I watch a few of the interesting topics then turn it off… Quite a shame..

He has a huge core base to peddle his wears to though so what I think makes no difference to Mr Sebastian… lol

  • -4

Over the years Linus has turned into a complete w@nker
    "Trust me bro"

  • -1

So expensive, probably good quality but so expensive!! I really wish there was a cheper way to get some of their products, but even with best conversion rates they are still so expensive and then shipping is a double killer on top.

I knew about the free shipping but by the time I got around to their site it had expired.

    Oh well.
