Doesn't matter if they're legit on Amazon your return rights are the same

      • not sure why you were downvoted… it is indeed fulfilled by Amazon Prime so still has good return policy

  • What’s the difference between Bluetooth and 2.4ghz model? I thought the controller supported both?

    • +2

No hall effect in the 2.4ghz only model I believe.

    • +6

The Ultimate 2.4G doesn't have Hall Effect sensing joystick and has a shorter battery life.

      Comparison

    • The Bluetooth model supports both Bluetooth and 2.4GHz, while the 2.4GHz is only that. The Bluetooth also has the Hall Effect sticks (as mentioned below) and is compatible with Nintendo Switch

  • if the pink avail at this price it may swing me to buy it

    • +2

Pastel Pink is only available for the 2.4G model.

  • Mine is still waiting to ship, should i cancel and pay prime and get this? Paid $88 last time

    • Can you try making a new account and seeing if you get a free one month prime offer?

  • I ordered one yesterday for 99 from same seller, anyway i can request amazon for partial refund? Its already shipped and picked up from amazon

    • +3

Amazon says, order a new one and return the original as it is, or refuse to take delivery. I dont think its worth 20 of my time to goto post office drop off the other order for return. Will leave it.

EDIT: I ended up ordering a new one and will send back the 99 ones. dont want my ozb license to be revoked.

        This is the way

Make sure to do it during work time 💪

        • Absolutely!

          • @John Doh: i managed to get a pricematch with Amazon but only once ever and that was like few years ago…

            • @meong: If the seller was Amazon AU itself, I guess they would have probably handed over a coupon. But he said he has no way to bypass the 3rd party seller price as they keep changing everyday and suggested me the above.

  • Can you connect multiple of these to 1 PC?

I got my unit from the Amazon deal, and I have to report that unfortunately, 8bitdo's chronic issues with inconsistent left/right vibration motors continue.

It's the same thing I've notice on my 8bitdo Pro 2 (using the 8bitdo Ultimate Software to test both):

    • The left vibration motor has a split second delay before starting up, is excessively noisy and just feels like it's poorly balanced. Lowering the intensity setting results in it having even more pronounced peaks and valleys of intensity, plus an even more noticable start up delay.

    • The right vibration motor is perfectly fine, whether you set it from 1 to 5, and is exactly how I wished the left motor behaved as well.

In the end, I just find it far more pleasant to set the left motor to 0 (off entirely), and leaving the right motor on 5.

    • That is good to know. Are there any other issues you've noticed so far?

      • At this point? No other issues to speak of.

I've tried it with BotW, TotK, and Splatoon 3, with no obvious degradation of my overall performance in any of them. The excessive noise and shaking from the left motor was a bit ridiculous, when just ducking in and out of ink felt/sounded more like I somehow ended up driving a tractor in a farm simulator game instead.

I've mapped the left back button to B (for jumping) and the right back button to X (for map/cancel selection), but so far my muscle memory is so tuned to the Switch Pro Controller, that in the heat of battle I pretty much forget about them even being there. But that's a me problem, not a controller problem.

I got one from the Prime Day deal too, had the same issue as pj1351 (I actually thought it was a deliberate design decision to have the left rumble be heavy movements and the right be smooth).
In addition, the right thumbstick was broken out of the box, it wouldn't return all the way to centre and if you moved it down and right it would get stuck there so I ended up returning it.
Other than that it felt like a fantastic controller so I'm gonna have another try with this deal and hope I don't get another dud.

The firmware update notes mention fixing an abnormal rumble issue in Switch mode. Have you tried it?

      • I was under the impression that the 8bitdo Ultimate Software will prompt you and offer the option to update to the latest firmware by default, but apparently not.

Now updated to the latest Controller Firmware v1.05… And absolutely nothing changed.

Also tested it in PC mode, since I didn't think to test that out, but sadly it's still exactly the same behaviour.

        P.S.
Also tried updating the Pro 2 to v3.02. No difference there either.
