    Dinner sorted, thanks OP!

    • Don't forget they all have a minimum spend associated with them.

The really missed the opportunity to call it Cluck and Collect.

Does anybody know how to work their stupid app? Is it possible to order food through it, I can’t work it out.

    • +8

Click here, click there and a few more clicks…. And done! It's not hard

      • +1

Great, now ive ordered 5 full chickens and a can of coke.

    • Their app freezes on me, so I use their website to order.

    • Their app is painful to use.

If you want to use the specials menu, it takes you to a website within the app. When adding more stuff, don't hit the home menu, otherwise you will lose your order and will have start again, even finding your local store again.

I can't do business with a company which wants an extra 50 cents for Spicy.

      It's crispier

    • Been saying this for ages, more people need to get on the RR hype train. Way underrated.

Their hot spicy chicken is so good

    • +2

Yes very good. They charge around $2 more for a 6 pack but worth it IMO

      • +2

Oh I didn’t know they can coat for $2 for 6 pack. Awesome

        • I'm not sure if they coat separately or have some other style of cooking itself. When I went last, their 6 pack in store was 15.95 and spicy red was 17.95. They also have 12 packs and 18 packs of each type and per unit cost comes down for those wanting to buy more

          • +1

@ozwolf: Pretty certain it’s the exact same chicken cooked all together and they just squirt the sauce on to order. Local Red Rooster has a fairly open kitchen so you can see them applying the sauce, which they do directly into the box they serve it in.

Still tastes nice either way and doesn’t seem to suffer from not being cooked in the sauce.

            • +1

@Smigit: I've been hunting high and low to try to find a way to replicate the sauce at home I'm that obsessed with it!
Anyone with more refined tastebuds than mine know what kind of flavour it is?

              • +2

@bomber_bloke: Reckon they’d sell it if you asked? Never tried it myself but there’s always the story of people buying Big Mac sauce.

            • @Smigit: @Smigit Thanks for info. Shame they don't sell the sauce. I've bought their existing 3 sauces heaps of times and would love to try this one out too.

              • +1

@ozwolf: Ohh I was saying I don’t know if they would or wouldn’t. Maybe they would sell it?

    • +1

      Some sort of chilli oil

  • +2

Get in quick before they roll out their new shrinkflation packaging.

    • What'chu mean? Is this a thing?

      • New chip packaging coming first to offset the price of potatoes..more to follow. Already shaved an inch off the bread lines.

    a lot better than kfc

  • +6

Food, Service and Pricing are better than KFC.

    • +1

Wider menu range with more nutritious options too, e.g. Classic Roast, corn wheels, peas.

  • What is a good addition to their whole chicken + chip for delivery? Thanks

    • +2

      A marathon?

  • Can you combine the $5 off with other offers?

    • To the best of my knowledge, no. I think each of these offers has to be used separately.

    • +1

Worth noting that the $10 minimum spend is AFTER discount, so you have to spend $15 or more. I don’t think I’ve seen such a condition worded like that before, it’s kinda sneaky!

      • I find it varies from store to store. My local is very pedantic, so I first have to spend A$10 before I can use the voucher to buy the 6 pieces for A$12.
Other stores will just scan my card and give me 6 for A$12.

  • How big are their FC pieces?

    • Might depend on the store, but lately I've found that the pieces have been pretty small lately, on par with KFC. Back around 2020 or 2021 when they introduced the fried chicken you could get pretty sizeable and satisfying pieces.

      This is just anecdotal though.

  • +2

Their fried chicken is so good, much crispier and less oily than KFC.

At my local their chips are hit and miss.
The hold grail- crispy, hot and some salt.
Other times, crispy, hot and no salt. Or soggy with too much salt.. haha
I swear the staff there are f#cking with the chips for laughs.

    • +1

When the chips are good they're on par with KFC (although KFC chips suck most of the time from my local). IMO the best chips overall are from Nando's, when they're cooked right and are hot and crispy it's just chefs kiss

      • +2

I'm sometimes tempted to ask for fresh chips each time but don't want to inconvenience the staff there. Plus, waiting for an order from Red Rooster takes so long as it is, let alone waiting for fresh chips.

Agree, Nando's are great when fresh.

My local seems to still be holding out on offering click and collect.

Grabbed the tender deal today, better than the KFC tenders (less salty) and the chilli aioli was epic.
