Nice things about this modem compared with the standard out in the market are;

What are all the spots on it? Looks like it has dandruff.

Not that it should matter lol. Long as it works.

at least they could have supplied some shapes so that you could test your iq fitting the shapes into the holes when you were bored.

My 8960 has been connected 24/7 for about 3 years and has performed admirably while downloading countless gigs of movies. I have also got my Gigaset Voip phone connected to it and everything has worked swimmingly.

also.. the big plus: "TP-LINK Australia Pty Ltd provides 3-Year warranty to all our products."
    link: http://www.tp-link.com.au/support/rma/

my device died after about 2.5.. took it to umart who rma'd it no worries.

and.. if you don't have the receipt they'll still honor it as:
"the purchase date will be calculated as the third month from the manufacturing date."

    pretty sweet company

Maybe the masses will change my view on this, but I had a completely shocking experience dealing with TP-LINK.

I bought a wireless PCI card from them which was DOA. I tried it in 3 different computers and had either POST startup issues or BSOD (on the rare occasion Windows started booting up).

TP-LINK's call centre never picks up… no really, never! About 10 emails in with their tech support and things just started going around in circles:
      -"Could you try another computer?"
-"That's what you suggested 4 emails ago, it didn't work!"

I just let it go in the end. I've heard good things about their products in general, but wouldn't count on their support in the slightest.

If you know it's a dud, just ask for an RA# straight away or take it back to your retailer who ultimately is responsible for resolving the issue with you.

  • MSY has a regular price of $72 for this TP-Link wireless modem router.

    • where is it? I can't find it on their website. I would prefer to buy from MSY which is only 15 drive from me rather than waiting for delivery.

  • good deal, bought one
5% delivery insurance and 2.4% credit card surcharge, I'm quite impressed they're so open with those numbers,
Free ship makes this a bargain,
i've been in the market for a while now for a 'newer than wireless G' router that's ADSL2+ AND has a USB port :-)
hopefully it's as good as my old 7404VGO billion on the line, can't see me improving over the current 1.4MegaBYTES per second downloading of linux ISO's

  • I really want to buy this but I guess I will get this elsewhere. The website is PITA. You browse the item, you click add to cart then it asks you to login then the items in your cart is missing. After that you have to browse the item again then add to cart.

After adding to cart and pasting the free ship promo and choose delivery Aus Wide the promo code then choose PayPal as payment, it doesn't apply the freeship promo as I was quoted $96 for the total price.

Seriously, a website this crap makes me wonder if I should just pay a few extra dollars and buy from a bricks and mortar store.

    Tested on IE and Chrome.
