Update: As a part of the new Accor Plus feature, I have also been credited with 20 status nights towards my gold. If you are starting from scratch, you will start at silver + 20 status nights, so will only need 10 more to achieve Gold. For Accor, the sweet spot is Platinum where the real benefits start to kick in like free breakfast and access to the executive lounge.

Similar to previous deals being offered in our Southeast Asian countries, Explorer Plus membership is offered in limited regions, Indonesia and Malaysia, from a quick search.
It comes with two free nights, making it a sweeter deal.

My partner already has the Accoe Plus via Amex Platinum. I just signed up as it was cheaper to book two nights worth $530 with this $388.

Note: You can't book two consecutive nights even though you have two free nights. Either you will have to make two separate bookings at the same hotel and reach out to them to make sure they are combined or two different hotels.

I used Surfshark to ensure I wasn't transferred to the AU website. Paid using Wise, AU Amex was being rejected.

Free coupons: MY and ID offer free coupons to use in respective countries. I have entered my Aussie address, so let's see if the kit makes it to me. Otherwise, I am still pretty happy with the digital card.

    After speaking with their online chat, they organised for someone from the Malaysian support team to contact me.
    A couple hours later received the call and they offered to renew the Accor Explorer plus with the 2 complimentary nights at the 1190MYR pricing.

    Got the confirmation email about an hour or so later and 2 free nights now showing in the app

    Was planning on using a free night in Singapore at the Fairmont which is $563 a night, so well worth the membership fee

      Good one! Last time I reached out directly to Malaysia Support by using VPN. Maybe worth if someone else tries.

    My membership is expiring at the end of the month, did anyone else receive any email the second week of the expiry month to renew their membership? Still deciding whether I will be travelling and/or staying at Accor hotels so may not renew till a few months later. Has anyone renewed after their existing membership has expired?

    Not too sure how accurate the information is and maybe they were just trying to sell more memberships for commission, but received another call from Accor asking if I wanted to renew(even though it was done last week)

    After telling the lady I had renewed which she confirmed, she asked if there was anyone else I knew that would be interested in signing up because from May 1st the price would be going up from 1190MYR TO 1590MYR.

    I can see the Accor plus explorer plus membership on online renewal as 1190 MYR, however, the page gets stuck when i click continue. It's almost as if only a phone call can renew the membership.

    What price is everyone seeing now? I'm getting 1699 MYR for the Explorer Plus when I continue through with registration. I was told over the phone when the renewal call came that it was only going to up by about 30 MYR. Luckily I got him to email me a direct renewal email so I was able to to renew for 1190 MYR just now.

    The prices have increased for new registrations.

    Indonesia is now slightly cheaper than Malaysia.

      Ouch, $525~ at todays exchange rate, + probably a bit more for currency conversion fees. Getting towards the "not worth it" basket.
