Seems dodge. All the reviews are for a totally different product, bait and switch method.

Dodgy reason to neg the deal if you can't look at the listing properly. There's multiple products on the same listing much like how Amazon do it.

      • Nope. None of the items currently listed are the little tiny battery which was reviewed previously:
        https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/Ab3d673fc0a28416faa115f1b4ef9d7e2…

        Valid neg.

        • -1

Yeah they updated the listing and they're no longer there. Doesn't take a genius to realise.

          • +5

@Clear: So a seller putting up a listing for $1 batteries, getting 20 reviews then changing to $500 batteries is acceptable to you? You're very permissive!

            • -3

@bienvenu: Who said it was acceptable? You shouldn't put words into people's mouths. All I've done is pointed out a listing can have multiple products that can be added or removed at any time.

I'll get negged by someone if I'm right.

One of the reviews says they needed to limit the charge current to 6A to avoid it smelling bad, inspite of the 20A "recommended" charge rating. Doesn't seem good quality.

    • Bad smell could just be fresh adhesives including labels getting warm.

      • +3

None of my big arsed LiFePO4 batteries get noticeably warm charging.
If this allegedly 200Ah thing gets "warm" enough to heat up the adhesives on labels with 20A charge current ….something is grossly wrong.

        • +1

While that’s all fair enough, ‘bad smell’ is subjective.

I have a Fusion prismatic 50Ah that gets warm charging at 30A and I used to be able to smell it if charging in enclosed space. Either doesn’t smell anymore or I’m so used to it I don’t notice.

3 years old still going strong.

          • @0jay: 50Ah charging @ 30A = 200Ah charging @ 120A.
So, to put it another way….. if you charged your 50Ah battery @ 7.5A…. would you be errr…surprised? if it got warm and smelly?

            • @rooster7777: Well given one of the main attractions of this chemistry for me was relatively rapid charging it’d be unlikely I’d be charging at such a low rate.

Smelly’s subjective. Some folks complain about the smell of styrofoam in packaging.

          • @0jay: Warranty based on the half-life of the smell

If can no longer smell - RMA

    • Looks like that reviewer is referring to the optional 20A charger, which is charging at 6A, and recommends buying a separate charger.

"The battery itself is excellent, but 20 amp charge is something. It is for acid batteries and 20 amperes does not smell. 6 amp Maximum. It is better to buy a normal one separately,"

      • Neggers rarely research properly.

    12v 200Ah should be closer to 24kg~

    • Exactly! warning dr smith! warning!

  • +1

Yeah nah, not taking the risk.

Would suggest using the store that all the images have been copied from, many more reviews and appear to be for the actual product pictured.

As with anything on AliExpress your mileage may vary!

    • Yeah, I saw that listing too

    • I didn't want to overly recommend the linked seller at the time as I hadn't actually received the battery I'd ordered yet, and I've been burned by fake AliExpress battery sellers before, but it has now arrived as described. (well as 'as described' as I can ascertain without the means to validate the capacity.)

The price has shot up since I ordered mine though, mine was AUD$490(inc GST) a couple of months ago and is now AUD$708(exGST). Still looks like a reasonable price for the features and if the capacity is as stated, but no where near a 'bargain' compared to the price I got.
