everytime i take up trial.. i end up paying for the following month n had to call up the support to cancel n refund it.

    • Able to cancel immediately while retaining duration benefits? I usually forget to

Or try a dynamic CVV like Westpac virtual card that changes after 24h..

Nope. Cancel is immediate I believe

Same here … except they said it was "not possible" to refund.
Dogs … uninstalled Uber and will never go back.

      • Huh they've always insta refunded me

        • Same, i always seem to be a member after a nigjt out and need to ask to cancel, they have done it 3 times for me now. I

      • yup plus they intentionally blocked Citi clear CC saying Payment method invalid on >$30 purchases.
Just so customers dont earn $20 back in CB from Citi

Also I still personally do not understand what's the point of putting delivery charges into Service Fee ? its just rebranding the excess cost. Delivery is never Free with any food app honestly

And note they charge you a day before your actual trial expires, just experienced it first hand.

In their in-app help section it says if you want to cancel subscription do it at least 48 hours in advance, and if it's shorter than that timeframe contact support to cancel.

My trial subscription is supposed to renew tomorrow but got charged after midnight earlier today, so had to contact support to cancel and refund. No frills though got refund straight away.

Uber One was a decent idea until recently.
It was 10% off all rides, and every few weeks there was a significant grocery deal (such as spend $30, save $20) that made it worth it.

Now it's "5% of the value of your ride as a voucher" and I haven't seen any grocery deals lately.

I think they're running an experiment to see just how little they can offer without losing most of their subscribers

They absolutely use the Australian market as an experiment for larger customer bases. I've met with Uber employees in charge of these promotions, we're literally a test bed for them , they are proudly seeing what works.

      • I think the other variable to consider is that consumer behaviours may probably be different in other markets. So all good to be running these "experiments", but how applicable the results are in other markets might be questionable.
