Some good deals to be found in this list!

My picks would be Ex Machina, Apocalypse Now, and The Big Lebowski. All of them are currently 20% off so you'd get the three for $45.96 in this case.

Some regular blurays and DVDs can also be included in the deal.

Update: It seems JB has the same kind of deal going on. So good deals all around :)

Who's guilty of still having plastic wrapped intact blurays from past promotions?

    • +5

Absolutely. Who doesn't buy blurays and then just look the movie up and stream it anyway hahaha.

      • +1

Me. I rip them right away and stream them from my Plex server :)

        • I haven't ripped my movies in years. What's the program of choice to use?

          • +1

@stuffandthat: I use Makemkv. I only want the movie, not the extras. If you need the extra, it can rip those too but it’s cumbersome and you’re better off ripping it as an ISO

        • Plex in the best. Lately I've been upscaling some movies that haven't had the 4K treatment. It's no HDR by any means, but on a 77" TV that little extra clarity makes a big difference to my eye.

        • Care to share your Plex library :)

I have plastic wrapped HD-DVDs and Blurays from JBHiFi sales.

….yeah well thats just your opinion, man!

  • Is there any truth to Disney cancelling Blu-ray/DVD sales in Aus?

    • +1

It looks to be the case from what i've heard, it's just Disney trying to push everyone to Disney+. Chance they might end up licensing out some of their catalogue to a local distributor but I doubt it, sadly

    • +4

Was clearly always going to happen.

Time to cancel your subscription if you give a crap about fairness in the industry

    • +1

DVD should have been cancelled years ago - absolutely ancient format with horrible interlaced video, ergh.

      • +1

Bring that same energy when the wifi is down

        • He's talking specifically about DVD I think. No reason Blu Ray isn't the default physical format except for the fact many older people never upgraded and still buy DVD

  • +3

sounds like a 'Buy 2 get one free' to me.

    • That's originally what I titled it but it seems an admin overruled :p

  • can't sort by price ?

    • +2

      Damn that's kinda annoying hey.

    • yeah, Amazon filtering has a mind of its own, unlike the majority of sites.

  • I just added the same 3 movies to my JB cart and it was the exact same price, and I can get them now instead of in 10 days time. AND you can sort by price :D

    • Oh shit, I completely missed their sale! Amazon must be price matching. Hit that for sure.

      • More options at JB

  • It was buy one get one free a few months ago

    • +1

Cool. You can buy Tenet and Back to the Future ;)

      • If you wait, buy 1 get 1 free will come back

        • -1

So will Christ, but let's try to enjoy the present in the meantime hey :p

          • @Jake T: I think you will be waiting a while.
