    I know it's a red cable, but Isn't the 4 pack (2 x1m, 2 x2m) a better deal? 35% coupon also available

    • Thanks, shared in text.

      • +2

If you don’t mind a red cable: this 3 pack is just $8.41

        4 packs not 3
        @thrifydan

      yup bought the red
trying to cancel the previous omg hopefully can

    • +1

Yep the 4 pack is $8.41

    • +2

      Nice!
Ordered one. Probably my last lightning cable purchase lol

  • +7

    lol clearance item?
Looks like we’re being weaned off lightning cable onto usb c lol

    • +3

Rightfully so. Lightning is unnecessary proprietary tech that is slower charging, less versatile and even within its own company (Apple), doesn't work with various devices. Some use lightning, some use thunderbolt, some use magsafe, some use usb-c.

About time we saw the end of lightning. It was better than micro-usb at the time it came out but its old, proprietary tech that should have gone to the scrap heap some time ago

    • +1

      IT'S ABOUT TIME

    • I dont understand why a third party cheap accessory seller would want to ween anyone off anything, they thrive off cheap accessories for older products.

for those that care - cannot find the model (Manufacturer ‏ : ‎ Boreguse | ASIN ‏ : ‎ B0B3J79F4S) from the listing in the Apple MFi Accessory Search: https://mfi.apple.com/account/accessory-search

    • I was just going to say
      MFi? Realllllyyy?

    • What makes you think the 4 different types on the amazon listing aren't the 4 different types in the table?

      • +2

If they are - they should list them as the model that they got the MFi approved/cert for… no idea i'm just going off the lack of info provided in the listing vs the info available from the MFi accessories search

soon the lightning cable will be a distant memory.

    • +2

      Good riddance i say.

    • just like the name.. lightning… we see then its gone

      • The Lightning connector has been around for more than 10 years on more than a billion iPhones sold since the iPhone 5. Not exactly a flash in the pan.

    • It will be soon forgotten lightning quick….

A “new” cable standard has debuted in iPhone world.

“I hereby announce our new iPhone connector, starting on all iPhone 15 models, faster data transfer* speeds a nice bonus :-)”

*limited to iPhone 15 pro & 15 pro max & 15 pro ultra models. In small t&c font size.

      From iPhone 5 (2012) ~ iPhone 14 series (2022)
RIP. Will be sorely OR not missed by millions of people worldwide.

Just joking around with words haha

      • +5

No doubt apple will make it sound like they invented type c standard. When they released the iPhone with type c port.

    • Millions and millions of people will be using lightning cables for years to come.
The new iPhone will usb-c, so only the new iPhone users will be using it. Every single iPhone user who doesn’t have a 15 will be using lightning. Or wireless.

  • +1

clearing the stock before type-c iPhone 15, lol

    • Yeah should be even cheaper soon however for those who have no intentions to get iphone 15… There's still a market

  • +3

Use all the cables from the pack but one. Keep the last one in new mint condition. You never know in 10 years you may sell it for $10k to some stupid collector lol

  • These cheap MFi certified cables sort of mark the beginning of the end of Lightning.

I'm looking forward to USB-C charged iPhones, but with billions of iDevices around the world, Lightning will be sticking around for sometime.

  • These look identical to the 'HARIBOL' branded ones I bought earlier this year. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/722058
2m cable has failed, 2 x 1m cables are still working.

  • Can this cable use for DATA?

  • Am i blind, where is the coupon?

    • there
      or try other colour

    • Gone I believe.

    • +1

It’s still there, easier on the Amazon phone app, it’s a checkbox next to add to cart / buy now - it’s orange and says “Coupon: Apply 35% Off”.

I literally bought it at 12:50pm so it’s still active.

FYI try Grey as red has sold out.

  • dun waste ur money

    bought 3 last time

after 2months none of them were functional

I d rather pay extra to get a proper one

  • I bought a cable seemingly similar to this, and it doesn’t work with apple CarPlay, but does charge.

  • +2

my kids go through one cable a month, bought this!

  • Sorry, they aren't of particularly good quality.

  • Certified or not biggest question all the time

Also isn't iphone 15 phasing out lightning ports and to usb c ports??

  • Does anyone own these, how's the quality? Most cables I've bought have broken within 14 months

    • So if you buy these they will last 42 months. Seems like good value for $8.

      • Lol 42 months? See people above. Typically die very quickly.

    • I buy them under a different brand but they're generic, I hand them out at work to anyone who loses their phone cable. Usual price is $17 for a 6-pack (arshcea on amazon)

They're good value for a $2.90 cable, mine is 3 years old but some people break them after 6 months.

Who uses lightning cables these days? I have heard that the iPhone is pretty much dead.

    • +4

Who uses lightning cables these days?

      Those with an iphone.

    • Apple crossed $1 trillion end of 2018 then crossed $3tn start of 2022. That's 3x in about 3 years. I haven't bought a single apple product and have no interest in them. But that sure doesn't look dead to me.

  • -1

Don’t bother with these I bought a pack and they don’t even last a month before they stop working for charging or data. The only ones that have held up were from this cracker of a deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/753957

    • Did you contact the seller? I bought these myself a while ago and never had problems.

  • Anyone got any opinions on the best lightning cable not made by Apple?

  • Bought the red 4 pack, came 5 cable. And some not red. Bargain. If last..
