Description
The indigo blue colour 2 TB light, pocket-sized Portable SSD T7 delivers fast speeds with easy and reliable data storage for transferring large files. Whether you're storing critical business documents, games or movies, the Portable SSD T7 gives you speed and durability in a palm-sized package. Introducing the new standard in external storage. Transfer massive files within seconds with the incredible speed of USB 3.2 Gen 2 on the T7. The embedded PCIe NVMe technology delivers blazing-fast sequential read/write speeds of up to 1,050/1,000 MB/s, respectively, making the T7 almost twice as fast as the previous T5 model. Unlike HDDs, the Portable SSD T7 has no moving parts so it's more resistant to shock. Plus, its solid aluminium unibody construction adds further protection, keeping your data safe from falls of up to 6 feet. Use T7 without the worry of overheating. Its advanced thermal solution uses ePCM technology and Dynamic Thermal Guard to withstand and control heat, so the Portable SSD stays at an optimal temperature even at fast speeds. Roughly the size of a credit card and only weighing 2 ounces, the T7 fits comfortably in the palm of your hand and is light enough to take your files on the go. The T7 comes embedded with software to help you set up a password to get the latest firmware updates for your PC, Mac or Android mobile devices. You can also download the mobile app for Android smartphones and tablets. The T7 is compatible with PC, Mac, Android devices, gaming consoles and more. Included in the box are USB Type C-to-C and Type C-to-A cables for added convenience. Interface: USB 3.2 (Gen2, 10Gbps) Backwards Compatible.

  • Been considering for a while, is this one of the better portable SSDs out there? and at this price?

    • +1

Yes - for example two days ago i transferred over 150gb and it was transferred at the same sequential speed the whole time

    • +1

is this one of the better portable SSDs out there?

      Yes.

Make sure you have a USB3.1 Gen 2 / USB 3.2 Gen 2 (same thing - god they stuffed up naming USB) port for the full ~1GB/s transfer speed. Otherwise an older T5 (USB3.0/3.1 Gen 1) will do.

  • genuine question - Why would someone buy this, rather than a nvme with an external case?

    • +1

This has good quality cables. Good chipset with solid warranty.

Also has top tier flash chips in it, prob 970 evo class. So at the discounted price it works out the same?

      • is it cheaper to buy this and shuck it or buy a barebones nvme

        • +1

          Can't shuck this one

    • +5

Some nvme cases are pretty ordinary, only giving ~400-500MB/s. With this you have a guaranteed speed, warranty support, and piece of mind knowing it'll work out of the box.

    • Potentially cheaper and smaller than nvme with external case.

    • +1

It might have better thermal management (just speculating here).

    • you dont need to buy a case with this.

  • Anyone using this on their ps5? Thx

    • +1

Yes, but external SSD can only use for PS4 games storage. PS5 games will need internal gen. 4 nvme SSD to extend storage.

      • Did you use the included cable to front usb c port? Assume that’s the fastest connection?

  • Are there any concerns around the warranty support for this given that it's an import from Amazon UK?

    • UK stock. Fulfilled by AU.

  • I was reading the comments on this one and the went to the expired deal link to Amazon. Now $470.00.

I guess they do that to keep their listing on Amazon?

    • Ps. I was thinking of getting one of these as a backup drive for video and photo's when I am travelling in Japan in a couple of months. Using my phone as a file transfer hub/reader.
