If you talk to an agent, they'll also give you this offer as an existing Extras only customer when adding on Hospital cover.
Bupa had 6w free after 30 days with an extra 4w after 12m until the end of July and most funds run 4 weeks free after 30/60/90 days promos on the regular.
Swapping insurers too frequently will mean you're constantly chasing transfer certificates so you can have your waiting periods fixed on things that matter though.
yes and Medibank messed up my transfer certificate and then refused to fix it, thats why I cant wait to leave them, I was treated badly
If they refused to fix it and you transfer out you'll be transferring out with incorrect loading and or waiting periods…
Obtain your transfer certificate from your previous fund yourself and email it to [email protected] and rip into them.All funds seem to use transfercertificates@ for this sort of thing, you could probably email [email protected] to get your old one 😎
its sorted now after getting the ombudsman involved and complaining to every platform and waiting months.
@screensaver: Sucks, in future make sure you get a copy of your transfer certificate from your previous insurer for your own records, at least then you know what's on it

It's like having some one smash into your car and you have to pay a gap of $5000.
I haven't had private insurance for over 20years. Because of COVID complications I have spent over 8 weeks in hospital and had every test you can name. CT scans , PET scans. They still haven't been able you give me a diagnosis.
Total cost ? Not a cent. Still visiting on a regular basis.
Wake up and save some money.i do it for peace of mind and for access to other facilities.
I do it for tax purposes.
