  • This or pixel 6a for $50 higher?

      Pixel 7 for $100 more

I think the Motorola Edge 30 Pro is a better deal for $494 (JB Hi-Fi) single SIM version.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 68W charging with the charger in the box, 144hz display. It can outperform the phones like S22 Ultra. It's way faster than the Pixel 6a or 7 or 7a etc.

      • How's the camera and software support with Motorola? Wonder why the deal is as popular as the pixel 7 one?

      • +1

How is Motorola better ? Their software support is bloody horrible , makes a good phone fall flat on its face !

  • How to get telstra ID?

    • +1

If u ever had a Telstra number then probably you should have a Telstra id.

for a new Id, you have to purchase one of the Telstra products.

I am not quite sure if Boost Prepaid mobile customers get a Telstra ID or not.

      • It's protected the same way as Telstra Id but it's not…
The easiest way might be to activate a Telstra account via prepaid sim?

  • Would you think this is worth $100 more than a refurbished a52s? I can't really see any improvement here other than the longer security updates.

    • +1

The A34 has 4 years of software updates and 5 years of security updates so if you want to keep your phone for a long time then yes the A34 is the better buy

      • I'm still running the LGV30 that had its last update in 2019. Been going strong but starting to slow down recently.

Makes me think updates and security updates ain't worth sh*t

        • +1

It depends on what you do with your phone. If you are doing things like internet banking, you are better off having something that regularly gets security updates just to be on the safe side.

  • looks good, the only downside is 6GB ram,

is the internal storage type UFS 3.X?

  • I got a34 5g its okay

    Downsides are

Fingerprint scanner not compatible with night mode
    No headphone jack
And it often gives me usb connected disconnected annoying popups when it connected to a specific charger

Battery life is also not that great for a 5000mah phone but its okay nevertheless especially for the price i got it for with the galaxy watch

  • Fyi I assume this would be Telstra locked so another $80 to unlock to another network

    • Lucky I saw this, as I was about to purchase to use on a different network. Can anyone confirm that is the case?

      • Usually telco bought phones are locked to their own network, but welcome to try your luck as some arent locked

      • +3

Only the phones that are 'prepaid' (i.e the phones will come with a $12 sim card and in Telco packaging) will be locked. If its manufacturer packaging, it will be unlocked.
