    Killer deal on this!

  • +20

I checked 5 items I was interested in and every one of them was still cheaper elsewhere after the 50% off…

    • +2

Same. I was talking about needing new knife's. So googled to see if they are any good. And they're cheaper everywhere else.

Which lead me Appliance online having a sale on knife's some $800 off and you can still buy them cheaper elsewhere.

I have spend two hours filling my cart to realise that the 50% is not being applied :(

    • +3

Unfortunately it's only on certain items. Says under the product image of there is any further discount at check out.

I'm sure you've already figured this.. haha.

Some items only in store I notice. Found some super dry shorts $88 rrp down to $44, extra 50% down to $22 and of course I had a $10 reward voucher on my account. Paid $12. I love the smell of a bargain in the morning.

  • Example : No Ride Up Micro Marle Trunk in Canoe Blue Marle $27 down to $20, under which it says Take a further 50% off (already reduced items), yet in the the cart it is $14. It seems to be discounting off the RRP only and ignoring the clearance price.

    • It clearly shows $10 to me at checkout, maybe some cache issue at your end (note: I tried from mobile browser)

Went on to check the deal
Came out with $100 worth of discount items I didn’t know I had to get

    Costco tactics….

  • +2

I fixed my own problem: Do not have any other promotional items in your card or the 50% does not apply

  • +2

Not bad, I’d say about 70% women’s clothing 15% men’s clothing and the rest is just knick knacky stuff. The air fryer is about the most exciting thing on there if you aren’t chasing clothing.

    • And the airfryer is $149 at good guys vs $120 at Myer.

No such a great deal at all

      • +3

        Ok

        I succumbed to the airfryer.

$30 is worth saving and I've been intending to get a small airfryer for a while.

Thank you op for encouraging me to make a decision 😉

  • nothing here

  • Anyone know if the pressure cooker/ air fryer hybrid is on special? What's it called?

  • +1

the ALDI $99.99 Stirling 9.2L digital air fryer already faulty its was bought 17.06.23.

If you're looking at clothing, be aware that clearance items are excluded from the change-of-mind return policy.

    • +1

That was what turned me off. There never a guarantee with clothes and the potential of buying clothes that won't fit me properly, just outweighed my urge for a bargain.

      • If it doesn't fit, it's not change of mind. So should be able to return.

        • Size incorrect…this is the way!

    • Yep, I got stung by this before. Ordered clothes which didn't fit properly, they refused return. I had no idea of this policy… at the time (not sure now), it wasn't visible on the products details or throughout checkout

  • Is JB HIFI going to price match for air fryer

    • +1

I would probably think so..let us know how it goes

      • JB said $229 lowest they can offer.

        • Why Jb, ask a Good Guy. Should be less with cash, and normally you don't have to pay with cash.

    Pick one.

Myer has its moments tbh, I have got some great deals in the past.

There is wide variance in the understanding of deal here, it seems. This wasn't always the case, but in the last few years, OzBargain seems to have been invaded by a new demographic that considers buying luxury brands at 5% discount or beef for hundreds $/kg a "good deal."

        • +3

I think what one considers a deal depends more on the individual. There has always been stuff posted here that I don't consider a deal - $10 for a bunch of cables likely to last a couple weeks is not a deal in my humble opinion, but others find it that way. I think objectively that any deal is a deal if its a product priced lower than actual listed prices, even if its 5% off, if its 5% off an item that never goes on special thats still a deal in my eyes.

          • @doobey1231: Yeah — see? — that's what I'm talking about. Not for me; discounts are not synonymous with deal. Let alone with bargain! Stuff is at "discount" at Colesworths every other week; are those deals, or just price discrimination? And, OTOH, OzBargain's long-running deal category has plenty of stuff continuously priced at a level to make them good deals, even if not discounted. Is a white t-shirt at David Jones for 5% less than usual that you can buy at the same quality and half the price at H&M or Uniqlo, a deal? Course not. A deal is a good cost-benefit ratio, not only compared to the same product elsewhere or elsewhen, but also compared to comparable products at any given time.

        • +1

Not going into the understanding of deal as it is subjective but I have definitely seen items as part of above promotion which were worth enough to be a great deal (not all though).

  • +2

This has started my Christmas shopping. I've apparently saved $500 on a $145 order with 8 items. Not too bad. Thanks!

  • OP came into my deal to spruik his own deal… negged my post that I put time and effort into.

    • It's called duplicate mate or kind of spam (time/effort would have been saved if you had made a simple search before posting), do not take it personally!
