On sale is this WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 PCIe adapter for a pretty good price if you're looking to add WiFi/Bluetooth to your desktop PC. Given it's WiFi 6E it's future proof and backwards compatible with the older standards.

As for the technical information it's using the Intel AX210 chipset with tri-band support for 2.4GHz (300Mbps), 5GHz (2400Mbps) and 6GHz (2400Mbps), OFDMA and MU-MIMO. Since the Intel AX210 M.2 card is removable you can easily add something better in the future. A USB cable for Bluetooth and both a standard and low profile bracket are included.

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate and GST inclusive.

@McFly: LOL… you don't know how antennas work. Perhaps you should open an antenna and have a look. It's very simple.

I already told you, I have got an el cheapo, generic PCIe x1 card and it works, the Gigabyte version is slightly better, but it's still pretty much the same thing.

One of my desktop motherboards has e-Key slot and the maker didn't even provide antennas. I just bought an AX210 card and antennas. Check listings on antennas, there is no such thing as you must get certain antennas in order to use WiFi 6E.

          • @McFly: I haven't taken them apart but I have a WiFi 6E router and I have swapped these screw on type antennas (the two sticking out type) from an older WiFi 6 network card with WiFi 6E antenna I got from Gigabyte for my motherboard (same fin type style as comment OP) and both antennas seem to work just the same. They both had the same screw type connector so the swap was easy. I understand it's all just anecdotal evidence I am putting forward but what I am describing is just typical use-case scenario on my approx 950Mbps on a good day internet and I have had no issues. When you push the 5GHz/6GHz to its limits and try going for 5gbps+ networks, maybe then there's some impact, but I can't see it at 1gbps

@McFly: Science time… since you don't want to Google.

These cheap antennas are dipole antennas. The range of frequency in which half-wave dipole operates is around 3KHz to 300GHz. 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz are all well within that range. The really important tech is in the Wifi card itself, not these antennas.

            • @netsurfer: Awesome lol, good to know I wasn't just imagining having no (noticeable) performance difference between the two sets of antennas I have

  • Is the heatsink recommended or pretty useless?

    • Cosmetic. Looks nice that's all.

      • Damn, shouldn't have bothered. Just assumed it would help as everything seems to be getting hotter these days! haha, oh well.

        Good prices regardless.

        • +1

Well, I didn't know Fenvi has a version that doesn't have the heatsink and is cheaper. I bought the heatsink version. I think the heatsink can be removed anyway.

We'll pretend the card runs cooler and will last longer or red runs faster. 😁

  • I have an ancient PC.
Gigabyte 970a-ud39 (not sure of Revision). With a 1080TI. I have 3 free PICE 2 slots.
Current setup is a BT USB dongle (TP LINK UB400) and a WIFI USB dongle (Linksys WUSB6300)
Will this work on my pc?
    Do I need it?

      "do you need it?"
Must be your first time on Ozbargain?

      • LMAO, I'm saving for a house deposit, so trying to trim the fat.

    • Will this work on my pc?

      It should

      Do I need it?

Depends on what you have and what you want. Do you have a 100Mbps or faster internet connection and not currently receiving the full speed of your connection via the existing dual band AC1200 USB dongle ? Do you have a WiFi 6 or 6E router with good reception at the location of your PC ?

      • Thanks mate. Nope, sitting at 50MBPS cos the FTTN only supports speeds up to 60Mbps so no point paying for a 100 plan and only getting 60. I get about 15Mbps during the day.
No Wifi 6 router, I have the TP-Link AC2100. Reception is poor at the location of my PC. Just one bar, as it's a 2 level townhouse and the router is downstairs.

If you are asking, then probably not

  • Damn, now I wish the default cases that come with TechFast PCs had a free PCIe slot…

    • +1

Ah damn I have a techfast PC as well, Just bought one and didn't check oops. That's really annoying, next time I'm going to buy local. All the extra upgrades lead to marginal savings

  • Looks like the price has gone up

    • +1

Yep party over. It may return again so I'll let you know.

      • Great! I spent too long thinking about it and went to buy it but it was too late :(

If you missed out you can grab the Fenvi AX200 WiFi 6 model for US$15.06. The difference is that it's missing the 6GHz band and Bluetooth 5.2 instead of 5.3. The speed remains the same.

    @ldd-mn

    • Thanks mate, I don't really mind about the WiFi, just need good bluetooth range. Cheers.

  • I paid $30 for the AX210 by itself this is cheap.

  • Just 3 difference now. item still avaliable

  • I just installed this. The Bluetooth works but cant get the card to show up. Anyone else install yet?

I have installed all drivers required.

    Cheers,
    Jake
