Upgrading from CBA Diamond Awards to Ultimate Credit Card - Covered by Wealth Package?

Hi Everyone,

I currently have a diamond awards card and I was planning to go overseas. I noted that the ultimate awards card has minimal transaction fees. I can't find if this covered by my wealth package or not like the diamond is.

Does anyone have an ultimate card and wealth package who can answer this question? :)

  • My Mastercard Ultimate is listed as being under the wealth package in NetBank. (Where it says “Your accounts and benefits”)

I’ve recently asked Ceba in which the online consultant told me my card was connected to my wealth package.

  • This must be a new inclusion as it wasn't previously included. I will be calling them to follow up on that especially considering the new 4k+ monthly spend coming into effect soon!

    Thanks for the prompt

EDIT: CBA have confirmed that this inclusion occurred in the last month so no more worrying about minimum spend!

    • Just spoke with CBA. I currently have a Mastercard Diamond linked to my Wealth Package so can't use the online credit card switcher until 25-Aug. Ultimate Awards minimum spend rises from $2K to $4K from 25-Aug. The $35 per month becomes eligible for the Wealth Package credit card fee waiver from that date. If you're able to complete the online credit card switch, do it now then wait until 25-Aug to activate your Ultimate Awards card.

      • I'm already on Ultimate Awards :)

        • Are you getting the fee waiver or avoiding by spending $2K?

          • @sumyungguy: I was spending 2.5K but now that it's included in the wealth package I don't care!

    • Awesome, I'm going to switch over! (currently on Diamond awards, and read about Ultimate just recently, but didn't like that it wasn't included in Wealth Package)

  • yes it is. I called CBA yesterday. Yet to see it in action but was told so.

  • I recently got 125,000 award point on my platinum award credit card and they were automatically converted to 50,000 Qantas point … what i don't know is why i got those points? in the statement it shows point but doesn't say why i got it … so how do i find out how i got those points?

is it because i spend $4k within 90 days which was supposed to give me bonus points ? i thought those bonus points get added after we complete 1 year not before so not sure what this points … :(

Reward points don't take 1 year. Usually credited once you meet spending limit within 90 days or so (and a few more weeks to process)

      • thanks for that confirmation… so can i now switch to this CBA ultimate credit card and get another reward point if i meet their spending requirements ? i was going to get ultimate from beginning but when i got wealth package ultimate was not part of wealth package so i have to go with platinum and as now ultimate is available i prefer to get that one … !

        • check T&C before you cancel. Your current reward is already in, but the next card might have a condition that you should not have had a card with them for at least 12 months.

          • @randomdude14: Ohh okay so do I check condition for new ultimate card or my existing platinum card?

I noticed Qantas points has less value then Woolworths rewards as in 2000 Woolworths rewards gives you $10 worth Woolworths gift card but 2000 Qantas points equal to 4000 Woolworths points won't give you similar value… however if you use points to book hotel or flights then you will have significant value out of Qantas … it's just collecting 50,000 Qantas points is way more difficult without bonus points or without flying frequently in my opinion.
