PLUSHNESS

93 points, Ken Gargett: "From a superb vintage in the Langhorne Creek region, this is stunning stuff. Contender for value of the year. Dark purple in colour, we have chocolate, licorice, plums, cloves, dry herbs and spices, with an overlay of cassis all showing good focus and fine tannins, with a lingering finish. The palate sees more chocolate emerge. The wine is soft and generous with a supple texture so enjoyable to drink over the next five to eight years. This really is amazing value."

A single-vineyard, single block shiraz from sourced from Block A2 on the Angas River Vineyard in Langhorne Creek. Harvested in March 2022 with eight months of oak maturation in two year old French oak from sixth-generation, small, family vigneron, Bec Hardy.

Vineyards: This is a single vineyard wine from Block A2 on the Angas River Vineyard in Langhorne Creek.

Nose: This classic Langhorne Creek Shiraz offers aromas of dark berries and spicy notes of cloves and nutmeg.

Palate: The palate is medium-bodied with plums, spice, and fine tannins.

Cellaring: Drink now to 2030

Winemaker: Bec Swincer & Bec Hardy

Yes, it was briefly up yesterday evening - a couple of glasses too many and rushing to finish a few things off at the end of the day before dinner. ;-) Cheers! RD

  • Hi Richard, how does this compare to the Lakeside Cab Sav? Which I know you’re not a fan of. I tried the One For All Cab/Shiraz blend and wasn’t much of a fan. Should I hold out for more Lakeside Cab Sav deals? Or is this a worthy a top up for the quaffers?

      Morning @bargainben
What a great illustration of the subjectivity of wine :-) I'm a bit of a fan of the All For One Shiraz/Cab despite not being a fan of blends or shiraz ordinarily!
The shiraz here is the shiraz from that blend. These Langhorne Creek wines are a little more fuller bodied than the Lakeside Cab 2019.
There'll be a Lakeisde Cabernet deal at some stage down the track or subscribe for the AfterPay email that will be out at www.bechardy.com.au for the AfterPay day sales event. Hope that helps. Cheers! Richard :-)

  • I had a case of the '21 shiraz and if the 22 is anything like it then it's an absolute steal at $10 a pop

  • @merriweather
Different region and vintage but arguably same price/quality ratio. Cheers! RD :-)

  • Thanks Richard, we bought this from the last deal and enjoyed it. Keep up the great wines and deals!
