Citizen Promaster Orca Black BN0235-01E Eco-Drive $299 Delivered @ Starbuy

120

I suppose if you want to wear a dive watch you might as well get one with a maritime theme. This one certainly ticks all those boxes, and comes in a funky air-cylinder-shaped box as well.

If you prefer the blue version then it's $389 at Starbuy for the blue strap or $599 for stainless steel. Or, Watson's has the blue strap for $399 and also $599 for S/S (sign up for their newsletter to get 5% off to cover shipping).

Shameless copy/paste from Starbuy's web site:

Citizen Eco-Drive collection Solar Power movement ORCA 200m Divers watch BN0235-01E. The stealth model in the series. The Orca BN0235-01E watch features a classic Black dial with a matching Black bezel, a black polyurethane rubber strap, a date display with Spherical shaped Mineral crystal glass that is raised within the bezel.

The BN0235-01E features the Solar Power E168 automatic movement with an approximate 6 month power reserve once fully charged and a low charge indicator. The stainless steel case is 46mm with a thickness of 14.6mm.

The classic BN0235-01E Citizen men’s dive watch is the latest addition to the Promaster Sea collection, with a strikingly original design inspired by the majestic Orca whale. The highly functional, sporty dive timepiece features a Black ion plated stainless steel case accented by a black 3-hand dial and date with elliptical white hour indices and bezel indentations that evoke the shapes of the Orca, plus pops of colour at the 12 o’clock marker and minute hand.

This ISO-compliant dive watch also features anti-magnetic and anti-shock resistance, a one-way rotating elapsed-time bezel, and luminous hands and markers filled with superior luminosity for legibility. The black stainless steel buckle fastens with a tang buckle and the watch is water resistant up to 200 meters with a screw-down crown. Sustainably powered by any light with Eco-Drive technology that never needs a battery, this is the ultimate dive watch to own and comes in a unique scuba tank-inspired box for the serious diver and collector.

  • Looks like it has lots of lume. Nice watch.

  • Any good GMT watch options? Looking for something nice :D

    • The weekend sale starts at 6pm so maybe wait & see what @StarBuy come up with.

    • Define "nice". There are plenty of options out there at the moment using the NH34 movement, and then the sky is the limit on price from there.

      • Boring , same old movement in a different skin …..

    • I got a titanium eco gmt a few weeks ago for 400

Watsons ship free for purchases over $100, so that 5% can pay for beer instead!

(they, in fact, ship express too - I've purchased one day and had it arrive the next)

    • Heh - it's good being a Launceston local, you can purchase one day and have it arrive over the counter 30 seconds later! ;-)

  • Nice find! And finally a promaster with saphire for under $400 again

    • It's mineral crystal.

There are a couple of sub-$400 sapphire promasters (not divers but) at Starbuy though:

      Or non-Promaster https://starbuy.com.au/citizen-eco-drive-mens-watch-bj7140-5… et al

      • Grabbed that non-Promaster posted here a few weeks ago, decent looking watch!

Also, that Brown Pilots Promaster can be had for $285.51 with eBay Plus. Been that ($307) price from this seller for over 2 months.

With that central star the BJ7140 looks like it is a NATO-issue watch

Pretty good price for the pilots watch - sapphire, perpetual calendar, world time, radio controlled (mostly useless in Aus, but still)…but that brown, eugh. The blue version is nicer but costs more.

          • @Astronaut Joe: That's true about the star! Great timing too since they're continually agressing Russia so maybe fitting for the upcoming WW3. (Russian news today has reports NATO ready to put 2k soldiers into Ukraine.. 🤣)

Totally agree about the brown though, probably why I bit the bullet on the star instead of the cheaper Promaster. Radio would have been great for travel too but I'd rather have something nicer to look at.. 😅

That brown nighthawk is a steal at 285. I'm posting it

      • I clicked the specifications and it said saphire. Must be incorrect

Update: saying spherical mineral crystal now

  • This is pretty good for this model , would , could , should buy but can't unfortunately

I've always liked this one, and 300 is a lol-fck-it price. But I've left the country for 2 weeks and already bought a Spinnaker, 2 MAS and an all black speed timer. The idea was to stop looking at OzB and buying watches, and to get actual JDM watches in Japan and Rollies in HK

I think they will all look good in your pile of unopened watch boxes.

        Lmao this is good

  • Oh dear. I bought one. At least I'll enjoy that O2 tank
