I have given up on budgeting for this week, I am going to buy this and bankrupt myself instead.

    • +4

You can't be refreshing Ozbargain every 10 minutes if you want to budget for the week lol

      • Yeah 10 minutes…only every 10 minutes. I swear!

  • +1

I highly recommend this charger, absolute steal at this price, charges phone nice and fast, and the normal Qi charger (meant for AirPods) can also be used overnight for your partner's phone. Great product even at full price

  • +6

Good charger. I've been using the 017 model (Same thing just with the fast watch charging) for 6 months

    1. Battery health still at 100%

    2. With the new IOS17 coming there is a night stand mode so this'll be great for that.

    3. You can charge your watch and airpods so it removes a lot of clutter.

It is noticeably slower than plugging it in directly but I get a full days worth of battery from my phone so I only charge it overnight.

    • +6

Just in case PPL miss the fine print from the catalogue - this deal is only for the older WIZ009AUWH, like MrMoo called out no fast change for Watch 7 / Ultra.

      • +4

Yeah, and there are plenty of MagSafe 3 in 1 chargers out there for much cheaper than this if you don’t care about the fast watch charger.

      1. Battery Health still at 100%

Yea i'm fairly sure the phone lies about battery health on this front.
Batteries may have an actual capacity greater than (in some range) the rated capacity when your phone is new.
Meaning you may still be above that and the battery has degraded in that time.
my ihphone 13 Pro has 90% capacity after nearly 2 years now. It was also on 100% health for first six months, then dropped between 100%-90% fairly rapidly in the following 6-8 months and has been at 90% since then. This comes after Frequent use on a magsafe charger in the car

      • +1

Yep, my battery is magically stuck at 90% as well

      • My iPhone 14 Pro Max within the last month has dropped to 99%, been using it a fair bit since release.

      • I think apple measures battery health via voltage and not actual capacity. Read that somewhere but don't know if its true

    • Does it hold the phone horizontally ok? (for nightstand mode)

      • Yes you can spin the phone 360 and it’s fine in all orientations

  • Does this have any negative impact on your battery long term? If you were to use this each night.

    • No.

    • Technically speaking wireless charging does hurt the battery (due to heat) but it's more convenient than using the cable. My take: just do what's the easiest for you and don't worry about the 'long term effect'. Your battery will get worn out by heat / wear & tear anyway.

  • This is the new version?

    • +1

      No.

    • +1

old version with slower watch charging

    • Amazon are price matching JB. I managed to use the amazon link to price match the newer model (with faster apple watch charging) at JB

  • +2

This is the old version. No Apple Watch fast charging.

  • I bought WIZ017AUBK with apple watch fast charging feature, since last week, my phone was not getting charge 3 out of 10 times, went in store and showed them the video proof, store person was nice and replaced with brand new sealed one. Now with the new unit, the apple watch charger gives error of "Charging not supported, charging with this accessory is not supported by apple", so will head back to JB again, apart from that, so far, I had good experience with this charger.

    • +8

So you have used 2 different units, neither of them work, but apart from that you've had a good experience? What does it take for you to have a bad experience?

    • +1

Sounds like a horrible experience to me

    • Mine stopped charging the iPhone recently (Apple Watch and AirPods still charge). I contacted Belkin and apparently they are aware of the issue. I can fix it by switching the whole charger off at the wall outlet and turning it back on after about 10 seconds. But after a while I get the same problem and have to switch it off and on again. I’m currently waiting for Belkin to get back to me about a replacement.

Edit: I’m referring to the older model, which looks like the one in this post

  • +1

Have to say I had one of these that stopped working. Belkin customer support is absolutely top shelf. I had a replacement within a week. Highly recommend.

    • I bought one off Amazon and had an issue with the phone pad not working anymore as well. Loved how it saved table space, but must admit I missed the fast charge on the apple watch.

    • Nice, so it just stopped charging?

    • Did you also had to send the defective one back?

  • Was cheaper once before but only in white. I got it then for $109.97
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/777426

It’s great and I don’t sleep with my watch on (I know some people do) so lack of fast watch charge didn’t matter

  • Can anyone confirm what the actual difference is (how much longer) this would take to charge compared to the newer fast charging one? Is it just the watch that’s faster?

    • +1

It’s just the watch that’s faster

  • Bought my wife one of these for Christmas 2021. I have been particularly happy with it - the build quality is excellent, and it seems as though iPhones charge fairly fast on it. Would recommend.

  • The online listing says "limit 1 per customer" - does anyone know if this is enforced? I would need one for each of my family members…

  • chance of amazon price matching?

  • +1

I bought the knock off version for $44 Jan 22nd 2022 which is still going strong, no issues. It is most likely made in the same factory as the Belkin. If I was to buy the exact same charger it is now $70, may as well spend the extra $30 odd and get Belkin with an Australia warranty.

when does this deal start please?? coming up $219.95 for me when I click on Link

    • +5

Oh i don't know.. maybe in 3 days, like the big blue banner says?!

      • 😂

  • Quite the turn of events.

When I posted the deal 5 months ago for this item that OP references, I was practically chased out of the JB HiFi store on Bourke St Melbourne after I asked post-purchase for white instead of black.

  • How amenable are the stores to swapping out white for black?

    • See my answer above — ie unlikely but worth trying if you don’t mind the hustle ;)

  • This is the sort of thing that makes having a 3D printer worthwhile, I 3D printed something like this and don't have to worry about any internals failing causing the whole thing to be a dud. I get not everyone owns a 3D printer or would like a more elegant solution but can fully customize a 3D print which is nice, not saying don't buy this or it isn't a good deal just an observation.

    • But you must have harvested the electrical components from another source / device right?

      • can buy any magsafe chargers and connect them to the 3D printed part. With something like the one in the deal not sure you can do much as I think they're internal so unless you pull it apart I don't think you can change them.

        • but you need 3 cables?

  • +1

Bought one last Xmas for missus. EBay special. Died after 8 months. I had the other version which lies flat so could confirm 100% main hardware not power supply failed. Would probably steer clear and get newer version for fast watch charging. But at $229 retail quite the ripoff.

  • You want one with adjustable tilt for when iOS 17 comes out. The standby, night stand feature is awesome.

    • What's great about it? Android phones have had for years so just curious

      • +1

not everyone wants to use android

        • -1

LOL and vice versa. I use both and much prefer Android which makes iOS look primitive in many areas but each to their own.

Simply just asking whats great about night stand vs alternatives. Never said everyone wants to use Android but asked why Nightstand is 'awesome.' iPhone folks are so defensive. If you don't have an answer to the question, feel free to just leave it be! LOL

  • Had two of these older ones via Amazon - both stopped charging my phone. Pretty clear Belkin know there is something wrong.
Got the new version from Amazon for the old price 🏁

  • I find it strange Belkin and other MFI brands/products are being cleared out just before an iPhone Launch. I'm guessing it has something to do with the QI2 standard that Apple was part of designing, along with the other big players. Basically, if you are looking to buy the next iPhone and the suite of new products that may launch in September, you might not get the benefit of the QI2 charging standard or other "magic features"

  • +1

    Amazon have priced matched

  • this is fully out of stock now
