How's their matcha? Has anyone tried?

    • Our household likes it - the additional white chocolate is a little sweet, but when on sale, its cheaper than alternatives.

    • +6

too sweet, get an asian brand instead

    • I only buy matcha flavor when on half price. I dont buy any other falvor.

    • +2

Wish they didn't add white chocolate. It doesn't taste authentic but can't complain for $6

    • too subtle in flavour

    • +2

it is only 1% matcha the rest is colours and flavors…..

  • Waiting for the “it’s a scam this should be normal price” comments

    • Do you also remember when you could buy milk from the milkman for 2 pennies?

      • What wrong if people have memory?
I do remember, as a few years ago in Czechoslovakian supermarket, I bought 1 piece of roll for 1 cent, but when I returned home, then in Coles, 6 pieces of the same rolls was $2.
Do we export wheat from them?
"People's without memory have no future."
        This is not my thought.

        • +2

And the minimum wage in Czechoslovakia is…?

          • @linkindan: Do you think that wages in Australia are 3333% higher than in Czechoslovakia? But what about Germany? For example, Sensodyne Tooth Past costs 25 cents there, in Coles 12 dollars for the same time. A whole duck in Germany is 6 euros, we paid 18 dollars per kilogram here. 20 bottles of 0.5 liter beer 12 euros, Dan Murphy sells the same beer for us for 4 dollars. I paid 15 euros for a 0.7L cognac which cost over $80 here. And so on.
Is it why you downvote me?

Not sure if I should hoard Apple GCs for the new iPhone. Really hope all rumours about the pro model are true (slim bezel, USB-C, titanium frame, etc.).

    • Do they have a limit on the number of GCs per transaction?

      • Just top it in your Apple account and you're golden.

      • +7

        Yes, there are limits:

        • Online1, and over-the-phone at 133 MAC: 8 per transaction, but you can add Apple gift cards to an Apple Account Associated Balance and then use that Balance in conjunction with up to 8 Apple gift cards (and one debit/credit card) to pay for your order.

        • Instore at an Apple Store: 20 per transaction, and there are no known workarounds. For example, when I was at the Apple Store recently, I asked a staff member whether I could consolidate multiple Apple gift cards into one at the Apple Store, and they replied that their systems block that. Also, you cannot currently use an Apple Account Associated Balance instore at Australian Apple Stores, so do not add Apple gift cards to your Balance if you want to use the funds instore.

        1. Online includes the regular Apple Online Store, Apple Education Store, Apple On Campus (AOC) Education Store and Apple EPP portals.

        • So, it means you can have unlimited for online then? As you can add as many Apple gift card to your Apple account and make online payment afterwards?

          Do I miss something here?
          Thanks

          • @BigLeviathan: I believe the maximum amount you can have loaded on your Apple Account Associated Balance at any one time is $4999, but you should be able to add as many gift cards as you want in order to hit that $4999 figure.

    • I think I am more excited for Zyron new products launching August 15

      • +1

        and bigly

savem to hoard GaN chargers ,

    • +3

Last year they stopped running these 20x points offers on Apple gift cards during September and October when the new iPhone was released so if they do the same this year, we might not see this promotion again until November.

  • So how many do you need to buy to get through to the next special?

    • +7

Well recently they've been half price at either WW, Coles or IGA every 2nd week. So buy 14.

      • +1

        Yup. 1 a night!

  • +7

These used to be $6 full price…..

    • +2

      That’s so last year mate

    • +1

So what? My house used to be 100k full price

  • This or or hinterland on sale atm?

    • +2

Hinterland is better. Connoisseur is pretty crap these days. I like Murray St the best. But Hinterland is second.

      • will note for next time, thanks for the tip :)

      • Murray St have some AMAZING new flavours in development - mum’s the word for now though

      • +1

Yup, Shame but once Connoisseur changed their formula, their quality just dropped so much and the flavours or creaminess was never the same again.

      • hinterland got sold out super fast. Really wanted to try the espresso almond.

    • I tried hinterland last week- express or with choc almonds. NO comparison to the connoisseur Cafe grande I had the week before.
It was FULL of nuts and much creamier imo
The only icecream I’ve ever found better than Connoisseur is Maggie Beer - Burnt Fig … to die for!! Available in COLES metro - sadly not in my regional town.

  • This is the fortnightly price?

  • +2

I will never forgive Connoisseur for discontinuing the Peanut Butter and Pretzel with Sweet Cream flavour, and keeping the Chocolate Brownie - my exes favourite

    • I miss the honey nougat.

  • Baked Choc Chip Cookie Chocolate
    anyone tried this new flavour?

    • it's really good it tastes exactly like cookie dough

      • The baked or unbaked kind?

  • +1

I feel this should be the normal price because they have changed the formula and the quality has dropped quite a lot from where it was a few years ago. You can take a look at the ingredients list to see the differences. Such a shame. Used to be the best ice cream quality that is store bought. So creamy and actual proper flavours.

  • The hinterland ones got sold out super fast, hopefully these will still be in stock by the weekend.

  • With the T and C, does that imply you can buy unlimited variable cards but only 10 fixed?

    Cheers!

  • +1

Tried to buy $1600 worth of variable Apple gift cards today via the Express checkouts, the first $600 went through with the points but the last $1000 did not receive any points and also froze the register screens.
They told me to either try tomorrow or do it at a self-checkout as it has higher value override….lesson learnt

  • New phones next month so stocking up

  • +1

good ice cream. my fav are coffee and matcha.

  • No Old English Toffee?

That's right, it go discontinued about 25 years ago. It was good!
