    No international calls ;)

    • +4

We have a new technology called Voice Over IP (VoIP), so it should be fine.

      • +9

Rather pay for international call than hoping grandma didn't turn off wifi.

        • +1

You can call landlines too. Use Skype, Viber, etc. and purchase call credits when needed.

    whats the normal price?

    • +1

      $120.

      • +7

InB4 someone says Vodafail. It's actually better reception where I live compared to Telstrafail so I guess it depends on your location.

        • +5

          InB4 someone says Vodafail

          You made it by 2min.

        • +4

Agree depends on location. At work tearoom my colleagues using Vodafone and Optus has reception and me using Boost (Telstra) - none most of the time.
This deal is 2 months too early, will go back to using Colesmobile365 when Boost expires.

        • +2

Yeah where I am (Right next to a major city) Telstra is useless, I can't look up google on my phone, but Optus I get full speed. So the whole Telstra is the best, always, not matter what stuff is such bs. For the price difference the few times I need the areas Telstra does have better reception it's not worth it for me.

I don’t get how any plan can be better than the woolies 10% off groceries plan? Or is it because Woolies prices are 10% higher anyways?

    • They also changed the 10% rule to in store only now.

    • Because you can buy the $69 a year reward plan (that also gives Bigw discount) and then this that gives you more data.

      • +1

What is this $69 a year reward plan?

        • Apologies, it’s $70. Everyday extra, activate via Rewards app

          • +1

@fozzie: Oh, I thought you were talking about a mobile plan.

            • @TomGum: Ahha, Woolies plans are outrageously expensive (if you consider how much data they give you). I think there is a 6 months for $100 but about 1gb a month.
$170 for 125gb 1 year, you are better off buying the everyday and plans separate (as you can find cheaper and Kogan would be cheaper if you use discounted gift cards).

    • +1

We have Woolies 10% off from car insurance and I struggle to use it each month. All the essentials are still cheaper at Aldi, often by better than 10%. I think the best I did was stock up on canned food and laundry detergent when it was half price! Having said all that, I got a new quote for car insurance and Woolies was still the cheapest for us by hundreds of dollars.

You can also get Kogan gift card for 10% off in shopback at the moment for extra savings.

    • My code looks like KGN100XXXXXXXXXXX.
It says it needs to be a 10 digit code to enter the gift card. I'm guessing you just drop the first part?

    They use vodafail network :(

    • +2

No problem Sydney (south and Cbd)

  • +2

Can the voucher be used for existing customers?

  • +1

Thanks mate i just ran outta data, this deal was perfect

  • One of the few times ive been happy with kogans pricing.

Althoigh last time i used it reception on the vodafone network is trash outside of major cities. Good speeds otherwise.

  • +2

Vodafone reception has been good for me in Melb. 1 hour out of Melb it started getting shit though

  • Very proud customers service. Hope it’s been improved.

    • +4

Yes. They are now ashamed to talk to you.

  • I don’t seem to see option to pay via Kogan gift cards…

    • +1

Redeem the evoucher into your account/profile, then it can be selected at checkout.

  • Never seems to work on trains…

  • Does anyone know if the 5G trial is still running?
Boost is nearly over and looking for a cheap SIM, this seems to fit the budget well.

    • Pretty sure it isn't but someone else here can confirm

    • I am on a 500gb plan that never seems to have 5G. However I indeed switched over from Boost with 5G and hardly noticed any difference.

  • My small flex kogan plan ends in six days. Perfect timing! Thanks very much

    • Mine ends in 17 days. If I buy this now, would it matter if I activate immediately vs activatinf after 17 days?

      • +1

If you activate now you will forfeit all the remaining days left on the plan, unless they changed it in the last 12 months. Better set a reminder to activate after 17 days.

        • Thanks

        • Bummer, so it can't be used to recharge mine that expires next March if I recharge it before it expires, right?

          • @baksobakso: Nah the voucher has to be redeemed by 30/09. If your plan expires next March, you might wanna check if there's similar deal in February, because these vouchers usually can only be redeemed within 1 or 2 months after you bought.

  • +1

Luckily I got the 365 days 500GB for $130 last month, Half price plus $20 off from cash rewards, paying with discounted gift cards.

    • Yeah same. I am counting on them to do EOFY sales every year to renew my plan now.

  • Oh, No. I just ordered one with full price $120 one weeke before. And I yet not activate it.

    • Me too. Wonder if it's possible to refund the difference

      • Yes I called them last year as I did the same. They cancelled my $120 plan and I repurchase the $99 plan. Just give them a call.

  • Does Kogan use the FULL Vodafone network?

    • +1

If they offered a crippled reseller vodafone network it would be unusable.

So yeah its full, but its not really anything to write home about.

      • 5G? I have a feeling it's 4G only?

        • It is. Depends how much you value 5g. For me, 4g is good enough

  • +1

Do we have a similar deal from Boost mobile?

  • Does it have Wifi calling?

    • Yes

  • +1

If you prefer Optus then catch mobile is reduced to $109 for 12 months with 120gb.

    • they currently have 60GB for $89 (new users) for 365 days, great for low data users - anyone know if those plans are OPTUS 5 G??

      • Powered by the Optus 4G Plus Network.

  • +1

I noticed Kogan are not selling the Kogan Agora mobile phone anymore. For people that were buying the Kogan Agora, phone in the past, where are you going now for your new phones? My last Kogan Agora XI was only $120 which was a really good deal as the phone has been very reliable.

  • I received a text from Kogan saying my device won't be compatible with the network after December 15 as they are shutting down 3G. I have a Pixel 2XL so I was a little confused as I have 4G.

  • -1

    sorry I see Optus doesn't have 5G https://catchconnect.com.au/home/page/coverage

    • +1

How is this related? Optus does have 5G and you're looking at a mvno coverage page that includes 4G only.

  • Amazing my plan runs out on the 19th August, thanks for the info…… and done…

  • Can you port from Vodafone to this? provided their are same provider.
If there will be trouble, might port out to $2 boost sim I got from Afterpay deal.

    • You can, but porting within same provider is always tricky.
