… The chipset was literally released Jan this year, what makes you think it'll run Windows 11 like s***? You think it's the first gen i3 or something?

        • +1

I have 10th gen i3 and 8gb ram runs Windows 10 no problem even with 10 tabs open in firefox.

          • @paulaus: I have pentium 5030 + 4gb + Windows 10H laptop and it runs everything fine (no lag) , just limit how many tabs open

  • 13k+ benchmark.. Good cpu and 8gb plenty with nvme ssd for majority of use cases.

Oh, no no. Not at all. It's absolutely the bare minimum. It's suitable for light office work and light browsing or streaming video. Will struggle with the vast majority of 3d games.

      • +1

There are a lot of people out there who don't play 3D games!

      • +3

"light office work and light browsing or streaming"

This is the lateat intel 6 core 8 thread CPU

Its faster then any laptop being sold at this price .. it may not play 3D Games like a laptop with dedicated GPU but even with 8Gbs of ram it will be buttery smooth as an office laptop. This thing is very fast

        • 8gb plenty with nvme ssd for majority of use cases.

I was responding to this here, hence the "reply" indent.

But yeah A LIGHT office laptop only. I have a host of devices we're replacing because 8gb is limiting. Once a device starts paging it'll turn into a parsnip.

It essentially limits concurrent tasks (having lots of files open). Heavy/complex Excel files will also be a problem. No CAD or simulations, no powerbi, etc.

This laptop is absolutely not fine for the majority of use cases. It's fine for some simple common use cases.

And 8gb IS the bare minimum. You can't do anything with less.

  • Can you view on two separate monitors with this via usb 3?

  • is the nvme upgradable ;) 1tb dram option can liven things up
