  • Where did you get the $98 from? can't see the price on the site

  • ps3 version seems better value as bundle prices same, but ps3 stick is 88$ by itself.

    • it is but they are both decent arcade sticks. I personally prefer my fighting games on PS3 so it worked out nicely.

  • Just my 2 cents: I bought the Tekken 6 bundle when it first came out, and that came with the Hori Wireless Stick. I was unhappy with the stick over the first day. It kept dropping out, and wouldn't read key presses at random times. It was also very light.

I ended up returning the bundle, getting the game on its own, and getting the Mad Catz TE stick. It was much more expensive than the bundle, but I was happy in the end, as I had wanted a stick, and the Hori was frankly just disappointing. The Mad Catz one is much more responsive, is heavier (which means it sits on your lap nicely, and doesn't move when you jerk the stick around).

If you don't wanna spend that much, I would order something like a Qanba stick from PlayAsia, and get the game separately. The wireless hori is a bad stick, and defeats the point of playing with a stick (which to me is fast responding buttons and input accuracy).

alright…..the Hori wireless one was the ONLY dud in their entire product line, going wireless was worst mistake you can do on these things as it introduced latency input

other wise, for low budget stick id take Hori over Madcatz

      • Mate, hate to break the news to you but generally all low end hori sticks are pretty bad. They use hori buttons and joystick, whereas Madcatz TE use Sanwa parts. If you're unclear what the difference between the two are, google it. I'm sure if you look into many forums, you'd hear the same opinion as well.

I haven't looked at the specs for these sticks, but if it's not Sanwa parts, I'd hesitate buying this bundle.

        • +3

Its definitely not Sanwa, and for that price you shouldn't really expect it to be. But hori is the best low tier arcade stick manufacturer, Sanwa models generally always end up $100+ for the stick alone.
But for a game and arcade stick to be less than $100 i doubt you will get a great deal like this, also this is Hori's 3rd revision of the fighting stick, the previous one know as FS3 was quite popular, this one surpasses that in build quality. Yes its still Hori but any improvement is a an improvement regardless.
And it is the Wired version. Mwave has the same model for $79 http://www.mwave.com.au/sku-67030025-HORI_Fighting_Stick_V3_…

        • ive modded both hori and madcatz sticks on low end, as well as owning HRAPs and full sanwas, what i meant was, for budget wise on both ends with stock parts, Hori still walks over Madcatz, ofcourse as soon as you go full sanwa, they end up fairly similar performance. these bundles are clearly for casual players, madcatz stock parts are what makes them bad.

Funny how Mad Catz is a legitimate brand now. I still remember using their crappy PS2 controllers haha.

  • I just took a better look at the link, and the stick included, and it turns out its not the wireless one, so feel free to jump on it.

I thought it was the wireless one initially, as it looked the same as the wireless one i had before, with a different faceplate.

  • need help… which should i get, $69 ANZ Edition Tekken TT2 from JB or this bundle with the standard TT2 + fight stick? (knowing I currently need a fight stick for SSFIV:AC, MK9, etc)

Lastly, how will the 6 button layout work with SSFIV:AC because i've noticed that most fight sticks have 8 buttons and also, SSFIV:AC has 4 punches and 4 kicks itself - please help!

Note: I'm looking for a casual fight stick, nothing to be used for tournaments or etc.

    • You do not need more than 3 kick and 3 punch buttons for street fighter. The 4th button on each level is just allocated to a triple punch and triple kick. ( in other words one button to replace pressing all three.)
Elite players hate the 4th button and many of them find that it should be banned in use of professional gaming. So they disable the 4th button if it comes in a 8 button configuration.
I was going to get the ANZ edition myself but if you want you could get this bundle trade it in and buy the ANZ it might cost you $10 or so extra.

      • which store would be willing to do that type of trade in becuase as far as im concerned, all stores take new games as pre owned as long as you trade it in.. and usually they accept it at a very low price..

can someone organise a Hori vs. Sanwa stick tournament so I can decide which I need to buy

fight to the death only pls

  • Good deal thanks, even though it seems like that stick is discontinued now (on Amazon etc anyway) it's still meant to be a quality budget stick. When you compare the cost of the game to Ozgameshop or something then the stick ends up costing $44 or so which is still good value.

  • Which games utilize all 8 buttons? I'm deciding between a 6 button stick and a 8 button stick.

    • I don't think any fighting game actually relies solely on 8 buttons, the other 2 buttons are usually combo buttons as i said before eg. triple punch/kick for sf or quick grab/tag for tekken.

      • Thanks. The deal is unavailable though last I checked. :(

        • Never mind. Just make sure to click "Preorder" directly.

  • Will the 360 version plug and play into a PC? I dont have a motherboard compatible with the PS3 version so thinking of picking this up.

Apparently any wired 360 device will work on pc.

      • Swwet gonna buy one then.

    • Apparently the PS3 version works with a PC according to amazon reviews so I ordered one.

    • the older hori budget ps3 versions did not work with PC plug and play, anything less than 2 year old will work though, pretty much after SF4 release

  • is this available preorder in store? or online only?

    fighting stick is shit.

its about personal preference, i personally hate fighting games on the dual shock controller.

      • +1

I'm not a fan of fighting games, but agree that the PS3/360 controllers feel clunky when playing them. However I played Killer Instinct on the SNES a little while ago and was totally shocked at how responsive the controls felt on the old gamepad.

  • thanks for heads up, already put in order for my xbox 360

    tekken fan !

  • I want to get 2 arcade sticks for my PC to play games like street fighter 4 and mame games. Should I get the Hori arcade stick VX or the hori fighting stick V3? Or maybe I should get one of each just in case I ever decide to get a PS3 or a 360?

someone is really quick trying to make some $$$ from this deal…

    • lol…. dafuq.. that persons quiet dumb..

  • +2

you won't believe there is a bigger idiot out there that will buy it

  • Does anyone know if this is pre-order only?

  • My arcade stick has been shipped apparently and has tracking.

  • Got the stick today. They're shipping the two items separately.

  • I got mine today too, tried it on SSFIV and is definitely better than my tekken 6 one lol.

  • ergh. i was just going to walk in and pickup today but it doesnt seem to be listed any more.

  • I ordered both the ps3 combo and the xbox 360 combo at the same time, they posted the PS3 Arcade Stick V3 on the 11th but they still haven't posted the xbox stick yet, maybe they ran out of the xbox ones and will post them later?

    • Got my PS3 Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Xbox 360 Arcade Stick VX today, still waiting for my xbox 360 Tekken Tag Tournament 2 game to be shipped. Big-w postage is very strange.

  • Now the game has been shipped too apparently.
But there's no 'Track' above the game. And clicking 'Track' above the controller only shows the auspost tracking for the controller.

Did anyone get a separate tracking ID for their game?

    • Got the game as well now. :D

  • No i don't think they track dvd's/games.
    Which is silly :X
In saying that my copy has shipped but not here yet.

    • Woo i actually got a tracking this time.

  • Someone is selling the combo on ebay and it's already up to $99 and has 1d 17h left.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tekken-Tag-Tournament-2-PS3-Hori-…

  • Did anyone actually get the preorder code bonus with their game? I did not.

  • Still waiting on my stick to be dispatched, even though the estimated delivery date was the 17th.
Not hatin', just sayin'. If it was the game that was late I'd be peeved.

    • I'm still waiting on my xbox 360 tekken tag 2 game. Sent a email this morning asking whats up.

    • Turns out that there was an issue with the stock of V3's at the Warehouse, which is why it's taking a while.
