    Does this work with ps5?

    • +2

      Needs to be a Gen 4 m.2

  • +1

    Nop. Gen 3.

Can this be added to a desktop?

    • +3

If it supports and has an available m.2 space available on the motherboard yes. Alternatively this could be installed into an enclosure to use externally.

    • +6

Check your motherboard specs.. if it says there is an M.2 slot with 2280 mentioned then it will support this

    • I'm buying one of these to add this to my server.

$39 is bonkers expensive, these are $6 on eBay.

worth a cheap cache for synology?

    • +1

Keen to know the answer to this too

      • +1

me too. Specifically would it speed things up if you are moving large files around via wireless

        • Unlikely. Even mechanical HDDs have greater than gigabit symmetrical read/write speeds, and there are few wireless networks and devices that can do better than gigabit.

          • @scix: Sequential read/write speeds, to be clear.

    • I am also interested in this :)

    • it will work as read cache if there is one Nvme stick and read and write cache if both slots are occupied

unless you use synology drive, it wont able to be used as volume drive

      • Thanks for that. It’s a qnap NAS

I’m assuming there is no need to get a larger ssd? The max size of the files will be 20gb

  • $14 delivery for me

    • Same lol

      • as usual these parts deals are no good unless you C&C

  • Would this be good to go into an m2 nvme SSD case?

  • shipping killed the deal
