Came out to A$45.74 for me. I need a new keyboard and my son has been playing my PC a lot lately, and needs to pull the keyboard way forward when he does. Because my current one is cabled, it then pulls on the soundbar and can cause it to fall back off the desk. I was looking for a lil desk shelf or stand to put the soundbar on and the keyboard cable under to prevent this, but could only find real bouji shit on amazon for ~$50, then came across this deal. Hopefully the six months battery life is accurate, cause that is dope. I'll try to remember to come back here and do some kind of review after I receive it, but I'll probably forget lmao

I chose to share Ajazz as they're really good value for the money spent. This is a new model so it'll be good to hear your feedback.

Post should be updated to show Linear/Clicky as usually Tactile refers to the Brown switch variants.

      That's fair. Updated.

thank you for preventing some random ozbargainers getting killed at the workplace…

luckily my workplace has a few clicky keyboards first if we start killing each other we would have no more staff left…

        • I think I drive my colleagues mad already as my Ajazz keyboard has brown switches. O Rings have certainly helped with the noise.

          • @Clear: o rings are only for preventing the harsh bottoming sound… not the clicky sound that many typists love but annoying others…

O rings are usually needed for the linear switches as usually they have much less resistance

            • @meong: I was going to suggesting getting Outemu silent switches on Aliexpress which costs around $30~$40 dollars. Then again, I realise that that's practically around the cost of this keyboard.

If you get something that'd properly dampened, go through the pain of lubing them and tuning the stabs, I think mechanical keyboards can sound quieter than membrane keyboards. Though at what cost is a different question (i.e. time spent, how many of silent switches use silicone dampeners making them feel "mushy" etc etc).

              • @iridiumstem: In general linear and tactile keyboards are more tolerable than clicky ones so you don't really have to go down that path of individually lubing them…

                • @meong: I personally think bottoming out sound can be as loud as those click mechanisms. You technically don't have to bottom out hard or at all with mechanical keyboards, but people tend to.

Lubing probably is more optional if your aim is purely to reduce noise level, but I would definitely recommend getting something dampened for that reason. I am sure I can get murdered regardless of if I bring a tactile, clicky or linear switches to the workplace (but then again my manager somehow makes more noise with a membrane than me with a mechanical keyboard). The moral of the story is, become a manager if you want to get away with bringing a clicky?

      This is The (ozbargain) Way.

  • Any deals on full sized keyboard?

    • Are you after one in particular?

      • Not OP, but I’m looking for something full-sized and as quiet as possible (new to mech keyboards). Fine if it’s wired, ambivalent on the rgb stuff.

  • Does this not have a wired mode?

    • Oh wow just realised that too… Tha'd be annoying

  • Review says it has delays when gaming: https://youtu.be/O3tNlu0jrzQ?t=221

  • i'm always trying to work out how loud blue switches are. is the rating the same for all other keyboards?

  • Can these accept any type of MX compatible switch? (i.e. unlike the cheap "hotswappable" keyboards you can find on amazon that only accept outemu switches unless you file the pins on the others down).

    • In the description, it says the hotswap is for 3 pin switches. This means you have to file the other 2 pins on a 5 pin switch.

      • There's also an issue where the outemu switch pins are thinner than the ones on regular MX/gateron/etc switches.

i.e. even if you have 3 pin switches, they may not fit.

Does anyone know if this board has similar issues, or can accept any Cherry MX 3-pin switch?

  • Has anyone bought an Ajazz board and experienced key chatter? I seem to be getting it on a few keys on mine purchased from a recent deal. Swapped a couple of switches but seems to randomly be impacting a fair few. Tempted to swap out all the switches but not sure…
Never experienced this with my previous mechanical boards from Logitech and Corsair (but don't have removable switches)

Edit - mine was the AK992 deal in case it matters.

Have you tried a drop or two of IPA into the switch and mashing the key? The is probably caused oxidation by on the switch.

I'm new to the world of mech keyboards so guessing you don't mean beer? I accidentally did this to a previous one and it definitely didn't help :D

      • got it! cheers will give a whirl, just been wondering if I should return it to amazon or buy new switches to try instead as I quite like the keyboard layout and function

        • +1

You could probably use something like Switch Hitter (https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/switch_hitter.html) to see which keys are chattering, and use a new switch in those key areas to see whether it's a PCB issue or the switch issue.

          • @iridiumstem: I have been tracking the chattering and just swapped a bunch of the switches for some akko.ones I bought. Seems to have a lot less now so could just be switch quality (not that I bought anything lovely extravagant).

Do you have a deal with brown clicky keys instead?
