  Neg Valid - According to google flights these air fares have gone up by 10-25% to cover the 10% discount
  Its just a fare change from the ultra discounted economy fares to the next tier which has 10kg of baggage allowance.

  Qatar Airways fares from Oz are overpriced, due to the need to operate ghost flights in Australia, due to Qantas lobbying the Oz government.

  My wife found it cheaper to use her QFF points to fly from Sydney to Jakarta, then fly Qatar Airways from Jakarta to Doha. Qantas does not fly to Doha.

    hum, well, I booked my flight for next year and they were the cheapest ! (among similar airlines / travel duration).

    Cheaper options were Asiana via Seoul (3 hours longer), or vietnam airline (10 hours wait between flights and worse departure time / arrival)

  Be careful with qatar. I booked flights for my folks but there was a 14 hours layover. I called in advance to check if there is a hotel included. They told me it was. Surprise, no hotel when I called back to request one after making the booking. They will refund within 24 hours minus the credit card surcharge. The customer service guy offered me a hotel for $250 each passenger or to go to the next tier tickets which included hotel. Scam, thats the same price I would be paying for any other airline with shorter transits.
