  • Tempting. Does anyone have this?

    • +6

I have this, bought it Nov last year for slightly more (and had to stack coupons to get it below $1500).

Overall, super happy with it. Doesn't fare too well with bright reflections during the day, we generally only watch at night time in a super dark room. Picture quality is incredible, gaming performance is great too.

    • -3

      very bright HDR TV

    • I bought this second hand with a Bose tv soundbar about 1.5yrs ago for $1500.

It's been perfect with frequent software updates. Gaming if great on it.

    • I purchased this at launch, and within 6 months I had dead pixel problems. Got it replaced and took out extended warranty at Harvey. Almost 2 years later, dead pixels popping up everywhere with 2nd TV.
Now Got the C1, No issues so far

fk me is 55 to big for a pc monitor? hahaha

    • +9

      Just sit further back.

      • +2

You better have an extremely deep desk for this plan

    • +2

Tempted to get it for a sim rig.. 😆

    • You got in too quick, was gonna say the same thing

    • +1

I've done it before. It is too big, on a normal depth desk. (65cm, this one from Ikea)

    • I might get it just for games. Less chances of burn in and can set it up separately. For other stuff I'll use my main 27" monitor

    • Im thinking the same, lol

  • +15

The 65inch is available for 1699

  • +1

Uh is it just me or is an early-2021 launched OLED 55" TV at $1399 in mid-2023 a pretty underwhelming deal?

    • +10

At $1399 ? Nope pretty good. They haven't changed that much.

    • +3

My B7 is still amazing, this one would no doubt be really really good (and a super good price)

      • +3

I concur, my B7 still going strong. Tempted to upgrade just to get HDMI 2.1 and VRR but they're very much luxuries to me.

    • It's not that the TV isn't any good or isn't amazing for it's time (heck, I'd like one).. the point I'd share is that TVs that are 2.5+ years old should sell for less.

The price drop on this hasn't really moved on from that nearly a year ago in 2022.

Maybe what you're subtly saying is the TV is so good, it doesn't deserve a decent price drop?

For comparison you can get a LG 2023 C3 55" for $1988. That's this year's model, and a significant model up with evo panel, for $600 more.

      • +1

I think it's probably the best TV at the price that is being sold for. It's not that far off a C3 series TV in most areas, and it's basically PS5 cheaper. Or a reasonable sound bar.

      • Where do you see the C3 for $1988? Seems the World Cup has bumped up prices….

        • On sale last month.

      • Where?

    • +12

It’s an insanely good 55’ OLED for 1399. Whether it’s 2 years old or not.

    • +1

OLED technology hasn't changed dramatically. I have a C9, and the picture quality is still way better than most LCD's currently being sold. It's a whole different league.

  • -1

I bought a 42" used C2 recently for 1k. Very nice as pc monitor. I couldn't imagine going any larger

  • What's the diff between this and C2?

    • +1

      C2 has a better/brighter panel, has 4 x HDMI 2.1 ports, better UI/operating aystem, etc

  • +3

    Average.
    3 gens old.
    B tier model.

  • Didn't even realise the B1 is still being offered :o

The retailer must be overstocked. Great chance to purchase if you missed out on the 55” A80J that was going for this price a few months ago.

The retailer is also legit in case anyone is wondering.

    This or a 2015 55” curved 3D OLED TV?

    • -2

      Clown

      • legit, worth the upgrade?

  • +1

but but but muh wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwqhd curved display

  • Why would you get this over the C1/C2?

  • If you have this TV, please take a close look on the 4 corner when on white color background, to check any black spot around there.

  • -2

    55?

    It's adorable!

  • 3D Curved FTW?!!

  • +1

Gees, I'm still running an EC930T, if it broke down tomorrow I wouldn't hesitate buying something that is slightly 'out of date' for this price

  • +2

    Thanks OP… bought one!
