Better to use referral program as it has same promotion. Not sure both can be stackable

    • Not sure. Saw this on Facebook

    • Exactly, might as well give someone else an extra $30 off as well if you’re going to sign up anyway.

    • Anyone tried to see if this stacks?

        • +2

Can you stack them together, or do you have to spend $100 all up? Or separate purchases?

          • +2

@rlytoasti: separate purchases, note that the referral code gets used first although it's validity is longer and then this particular code remains for usage till 31 Aug

  • Only available to new customers

  • Do AP do credit check?

    • +2

      No

      • -2

Are you sure? I’ve never signed up yet assuming they definitely would

        • +1

Their website mentions a soft credit check, they have never done a proper credit check and there have been discussions about BNPL possibly being treated like credit in the future.

        • +2

You're questioning them based off zero knowledge and pure assumption?

          https://help.afterpay.com/hc/en-au/articles/900003970646-Is-…

Afterpay does not affect your credit score or credit rating. Your credit score can be impacted when somebody does a credit check on you or if you are reported as paying debts late; at Afterpay, we never do credit checks or report late payments. We don’t believe in preventing people from accessing Afterpay because they may have had an old debt from a long time ago.

          • +1

@dm02: I questioned as it would seem logical for them to do a credit check before giving out a line of credit, considering even energy providers do credit checks.

Furthermore old articles suggested that credit checks would be coming soon, I wasn’t sure if the after pay website was regarding US market as mine said US at the bottom

Simply seeking clarification from someone who’s used it.

I should have phrased my question better, but I had never signed up previously as I had assumed they would have done a credit check.

@Brick50: Starting a rebuttal paragraph with "furthermore" isn't much of a way to climb down from your incorrect high horse

            • +1

@Brick50: No Afterpay did no credit check on me.

            • @Brick50: Same. So I never signed up

How can i be a new customer again?

    • -1

      New phone number

      • -1

Only the mobile number? Name, address and the payment method can be the same?

      • -1

You sure, don't they collect other details like your DL?

        • -1

Just signed up, all they asked for was name, address, phone number

Didn’t need a payment method until I bought something and they didn’t verify the address was correct (I typo’d it)

They didn’t verify email either but did verify mobile no

          • @[Deactivated]: Have you actually made a purchase with the new account you created? I think they need to verify your ID before your first purchase.

            • @wildstone: yep, I have. No ID verification

              • @[Deactivated]: When I tried, it asks for verification before I made the first purchase.

                • @wildstone: Interesting. What did it need to verify? ID such as drivers license?

Maybe it’s based on another factor such as total cost. My purchase was only $50-60

                  • @[Deactivated]: My purchase was about the same price as well. Yes they need ID like DL or Medicare.

  • I am not sure what happened but i wasn't new customer and somehow i got $30 off my purchased 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

    • Damnit, not working for me though.. 😪

  • Thanks! Never joined Afterpay before so I'm happy with that 😊
Would anyone know where to buy the cheapest Zelda TOTK from?

  • I joined for the first time and can't seem to buy gift cards 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

  • Where do you see you get the $30 off? Does it only show up after you buy something?

    • +2

In the app go into Myafterpay and then Promos, where it will prompt you to enter the code

  • +2

Does it work on eBay and does the purchase need to be made by 31 aug or just sign up by 31 aug?

    • Waiting to hear about this too.

  • -2

useless its for new customers to Afterpay.

    • How is it useless? New customers don't exist? I've never used afterparty before but getting $30 back will be enough for me to give it a try.

      • Not useless, but as others have already mentioned, better to use the referral system, 2 ozbargainers will end up getting $30 off a $50 minimum spend. 😉

        • +1

          Calling my Cousin.

  • this can be used to buy woolworths and coles gift cards in the APP.

  • stack with referral?

  • Still working

  • I have the code on the app but how to get it to be discounted from the purchase? It doesn't show up on the checkout.

    • +1

Is your purchase above $50? It should be applied automatically

      • Yes, $100. When I go to payments it shows me card,PayPal and afterpay but on that section it only asks card details, can't see the $30 added on the promo section.

    • Head to your my afterpay section and go to promos menu to enter your promo code

      • +1

I did, it accepted it. How can I discount it when checking out?

        • +1

Discount should be already applied when paying with the afterpay option at chosen retailer. I have just bought a new pair of sneakers and had the discount applied after that i just entered my card details and completed the purchase

  • Can i signup now and use the promo later or have to use it at this point?

  • New to Afterpay, just signed up to use this code.

if I send my referral code to someone, do they have to create the account from the referral link?

Husband created the account, but hasn't purchased anything yet and my referral code is not getting accepted on the app. Anyone knows why? Or does he have to purchase directly from the link?

    • How to claim your $30 off.

      Scan the QR code above.

Download the app to shop thousands of brands, online and in-store.

Follow the on-screen prompts to complete your details and create an account.

      Enjoy $30 off!

Enjoy your $30 off - automatically applied to your account!

If not, head to ‘My Afterpay’ and enter AP30OFF into the promotion screen.

      • I just did, after purchase sent my referral code to someone but unsure how to use it on his app.

He didn't create the account with the link, just downloaded the app and hasn't purchased anything. I thought he can just add the code on the Promo section but it won't allow it.

Does he have to purchase only through the link?

        • same here. I have no clue know how to use referral code in the app :/

          • @namdang311: I think it's working now. Go to the app, click on My Afterpay then click on Promos and submit the code.

  • Is this still active?

    • It should be, you can also click on the ozbargain referral system as referrals also give $30 off first purchase.

Can confirm I signed up and then referred my partner. Once she made a purchase I have 3x $30 off. I have already used 2 of them

      • When do those $30 offs expire? Particularly this one as we are not sure the 31st August deadline is for signing up or to use up the $30 off

        • It would be to use it, I have on expiring midnight tonight but can't use it. I keep getting errors at checkout
