2TB for $178.49 is the real deal

    P31 Gen 3 also on special, 1TB for $85.39 and 2TB for $155.39

Hynix basically repeating Prime day deals

      Ps5 compatible?

      • Can use till PS6

        • +2

No, PS6 will need PCIe gen 5 x4 SSD.

          • @netsurfer: Would any generic m2 heatsink do the trick for PS5?

            • @agentzero: Yes, the heatsink is mostly cosmetic because PS5 will spend most time doing reads on that SSD. You cannot get the NVMe SSD to throttle as PS5's internal SSD is 825GB.

Even for a PC, most heatsinks are adequate for PCIe gen 4 x4 SSDs.

For about the same price bought the 2 * Crucial 2TB's for $170 for 4TB…

Is 2TB SK hynix really worth it in comparison?

    • And with local delivery, I think Prime day was delivered from OS.

  • Why this? Why not lexar 790

    • +2

DRAM for PC/Laptop as main drive

    • +3

1TB, given the price, Lexar NM790 might be a better choice if it is for general usage and gaming.

P41 is known to have good latency amongst PCIe gen 4 x4 SSD (990 Pro could beat it). NM790's random write latency is subpar and it is not ideal for server based usage. 2TB though, it gets a bit more interesting.

    • Most users probably won't notice any difference. Write intensive uses, however, the P41 will be noticeably better.

      • Bit expensive

  • Jumped on the 2TB

I'm out of touch of all the new forms of storage media, but need to buy something for my daughter.

Could I ask if this is something that you could put into an enclosure for a portable drive? It seems this would be a nice small portable storage device, but JB Hifi seems to only sell the usual HDD and SDD.
