Our new releases are: Aussie Choc Malt (reformulated - thank you for the feedback on the old flavour!), Chocolate Honeycomb, Pandan & Coconut Gelato, Taro Milk Ice Cream, Choc Hazelnut (extremely limited quantity available)

All flavours are naturally sweetened. All use thaumatin except for Cinnamon Icing (which uses stevia). Please note that some people find the stevia aftertaste unpleasantly bitter, so we'd recommend avoiding the cinnamon icing flavour if you're concerned about this.

We have transitioned over to thaumatin for the fact that it is an all natural plant based sweetener, a superior flavour profile, a neutral insulin impact (as it is a protein) and being very gentle on the gut. A bit of trivia, thaumatin is about 10x the cost of artificial counterparts (eg. sucralose) and more than 5x the cost of stevia based on weight! Our focus remains on product quality.

Also note the Unflavoured option is straight WPI with just sunflower lecithin added at the point of manufacture to assist in mixing and reduce frothing (less than 1% w/w). There is no sweetener added either.

Product Breakdown

• 100% Australian Blended and Packed in our Sydney Facility
• Our manufacturing facility is owned by us and is a NSW Licensed Food Facility with an approved Dairy Processing license
• For the nutritional information for each flavour, please click on the "Nutritional Info" tab. The best macros are for Unflavoured (Per serve: 29.7g P / 0.3g F / 0.4g C), and the flavour breakdowns will be variable. All other flavours have less than 1g of fat per serve and 1.2-3.7g of carbs/serve. The new Aussie Choc Malt is the only exception with 9.9g carbs/serve (from the malt component) - I highly recommend it for the taste, avoid if you want to keep the carbs down.
• We only use WPI in this protein - this is not a blend of other cheaper proteins (for example Whey Protein Concentrate/WPC)
• Protein is added hormone free, ultra and micro filtered and cold pressed
• Naturally sweetened with thaumatin (except Cinnamon Icing which uses stevia). We do not use artificial sweeteners.
• Soy free - we use sunflower lecithin instead of soy lecithin (soy is common in whey proteins)

        @amosmilburn LOL well not exactly, we do have some fans of the cinnamon (I am one of them). But the major issue is that it uses stevia which a minority of people find have an offensive bitter aftertaste. I don't notice it, and although most people don't, if you are sensitive to stevia you will notice it.

        So we will reformulate this without the stevia. We're unsure of when the release date will be though.

        Having said that, if you get it and don't like it, please just let our team know and we can send another flavour.

          @aminozcomau: i use stevia all the time, in everything, purchased from that "Professional" mob (organic stevia extract) i previously got my powder from before committing to trying yours. Not for nothing but it is The Best tasting stevia ive ever tried, and ive tried them all…..no aftertaste to me….i buy it in bulk (well their largest pack is 100gm) and it lasts forever between orders..like 3/4 months for my usage

          i suspect the people who hate stevia, probably have tried the awful crap from the supermarket thats cut with more stuff than back alley cocaine….and think all stevia tastes that way, they probably precondition themsleves to hate it……if thats their only experience then i wouldnt be changing my recipes based on that feedback. i have caught more than one person about to buy the $8.50 per tin of not much stevia in Woolies and send them to that other mob, and get thanked for turning them onto it and the fact it tastes so much better

          i guess we'll find out if i turn out to hate this thaumatin stuff you use instead….because i have a history of being "the one" who has issues with foods :)

              @aminozcomau: Just wanted to give some quick prelim feedback, from a few angles. I signed up for notifications, but never have i gotten the level of notifications and customer service - almost to the point of "how do i make it STOP" :) I should explain i didnt realise it would come via Aus Post, so it got auto added to my Aus Post app which sent me updates, and then i also got SMS updates from you. Rare for me to see that level of customer service. Big tick.

              Despite being dog tired, being a cinnamon freak (anyone else old enough to remember and salivate at the thought of Nabisco Coffee Scrolls, with the pink icing in the centre, long since discontinued?) the moment i got home from picking the package up from Aus Post on the way home just now, i had to mix some up……half water/half milked it…very very nice, probably best full milk though. No hint of stevia trauma here. It was perfectly sweet enough for me, i usually add my own stevia to natural powder, and usually raw dog some amino acids on top, which my friends screw their noses up at just the thought of the taste, as i had run out of flavoured powder, and so this was a nice treat. Looking forward to trying the others, but already wish id ordered all 4 bags in cinnamon icing :) Cant see me hate posting it back, just quietly :)

                  @aminozcomau: it totally makes sense to provide more in notifications, than less, obviously it heads off issues as you say. like i said it was almost too much :)
                  got into the choc honeycomb on friday, which was also just right and didnt make we reach to up-sweeten with a dab of stevia, so youre doing well on all fronts. i havent attacked the creme caramel or choc hazelnut yet, but dont expect to find they'll be any different in quality of taste given the 1st two flavours. have a great week

    FYI to others that may experience the same issue I did. I was using Chrome. I opened the same link in an incognito tab, and it all worked fine. I had tried it several times without incognito and kept facing the same issue. I got the $149.99 price, it noted the $50 credit and free delivery.

      I was also pleased to see your allergen information has improved. When I made my last order in May the page suggested all flavours were gluten free, so I was super excited that you had managed choc malt without barley. Thankfully I double checked before ordering.

        We did make a number of changes to the nutritional information area for better clarity since our last deal. I am happy to know that this is now a lot more obvious on the product page.

        However just so you're aware, the older Aussie Choc Malt didn't have gluten in it, we have reformulated this so now it does contain malt and it will have the additional allergen as you've identified. I'm glad though that you weren't caught off-guard due to the change.

    Hi @Mellows yep, it's because in this one flavour we add a bunch of malt for the flavour profile. This increases the carb content and decreases the protein.

    It tastes great, but the protein is a lot lower than all the other flavours. If you're looking to get a higher protein percentage, go for any of the other flavour options which are generally around 80-90% protein (90% is unflavoured which is the highest).

  Just ordered the Creatine and the shaker with the points. I just started the batch from last promotion this week. The Vanilla WPI is nice, a little bit sweet for my taste. the blueberry BCAA was good, I liked the watermelon from BN better. Will give feedback of the WPI Strawberry when I get to open one.

  I loved the Chocolate Mint but noticed that it's not available anymore and probably replaced by Mint Choc Chips?
  Can I ask what the difference is?

  And the Matcha Ice Cream is delicious!
  I ordered 3x chocolate and 1x mint choc chips because my partner only wants to drink chocolate lol
  But if next time the Pandan flavour is still available, I'll definitely try that! (Taro is also very tempting…!)

    We updated this flavour and released the Mint Choc Chip which has more of a "Minty" flavour, as opposed to the prior peppermint flavour which we found was a little overpowering in the mix. So now it takes a lot more like an after-dinner mint.

    Obviously I understand this is a concern as some brands have gone down this path. I honestly believe that this would be a terrible business decision (cutting costs in the short-term to completely ruin a brand's reputation) - we are here to build a strong a reputable brand that people can trust.

    I am aware that several of our competitors regularly test other brand products and I presume ours have been tested too. So doing something like this would be an extremely risky endeavour. This is not only to our reputation, but also associated fines from the authorities and liability for false advertising.

    This is certainly not a path we will ever go down and I will guarantee that there is no amino spiking in any of our products that we manufacture.

    In order to improve transparency and trust in our brand, we do publish lab tests on our product pages (scroll down and click on the lab tests link). You're welcome to download them and view them.

    Anyway, I hope this helps and provides clarity on our position on the matter.

  Highly recommend using Amino Z! I use Amino Z protein daily with their creatine and have just put in another order even though I've still got a couple stashed (Will be trying out the Taro Milk and Vanilla). Personally, I drink with water and a dash of milk and the flavours I've had so far are + in personal preference order:
  1. Matcha Green Tea (so good that I am about to order a 3rd bag)
  2. Chocolate
  3. Smooth Milk Chocolate
  4. Iced Coffee (smells amazing but taste seem lacking when actually drinking it- note: I may be biased as I am a heavy coffee drinker)
  6. Coconut Ice Cream
  5. Cinnamon Icing
  7. Mint Choc Chip (frothy does not seem to mix well)
  8. Aussie Choc Malt (tried the previous version and did not like it and Amino Z was quick to provide the 110% guarantee with no fuss at all. Credit given and I was able to put an order in for an alternative flavour)

    This is very helpful and something that I will be sharing with the team, especially on the frothing on the mint choc chip you identified.

    That old version of Aussie Choc Malt is now completely gone because we did receive a lot of complaints on the flavour profile of it. But I am glad you were happy with service from our team in sending out the alternative flavour.

    As an FYI, Cinnamon Icing will be axed once stocks are exhausted. This was a stevia based flavour which we plan to reformulate and improve with a thaumatin sweetener instead.

      Thought I’d pop open the Taro as the first cab off the ranks. Mixing was the easiest I’ve experienced with all brands I’ve had. Not a fan of a shaker I just use a tall glass tumbler, add scoop of protein, water from the kitchen tap and a fork to stir. Too easy!!! Now the taste, amazing!!!

      Now forgive me for being thick in the head. When opening the bag using the zip, is the intent to use a knife or Stanley to slice the clear plastic to crack it open? I couldn’t find any other way so opted for this method 😳

      Confident other flavours are as good and same to the mixing.

      I’ll be a loyal customer 😎

        We are working on a better pouch opening where a knife won't be necessary, but for now yes, use a knife and just be careful not to cut the edge. It's a bit fiddly. Personally I find it easiest to pierce the membrane with the knife and then just use my fingers to open it up the rest of the day (or scissors).

  I'm recovering from a full achilles tendon rupture, the muscle atrophy on my calf was significant and I'm giving myself every bit of a chance to build muscle again hence taking the protein whilst doing some intense rehab.       Taro is a root vegetable, it's very common in those purple bubble teas. It's interesting you find it similar to popcorn, I never would have thought this, but I've had lots of those bubble teas after all.

    @Jasonissm we don't get too much returned, but if a customer reports a particular issue that we wish to investigate we will ask to ship it back (at our expense) and then we undertake testing, depending upon what the reported issue was. This is extremely rare due to the quality measures we take during the manufacture process, but we believe it's good and necessary practice to identify any potential issues immediately.

    Any product that is returned is either quarantined or disposed of after testing.

    The vast majority of protein isn't returned to us (eg. if someone doesn't like the flavour) as part of our 110% Guarantee. As I mention in my video, I believe the onus is on us to produce great quality product. So if you receive something you're unhappy with, we (generally) won't ask for it to be sent back to avoid further inconvenience.
